About the Job
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize needs and desires of participants as first responsibility and shows respect to participants at all times.
- Displays an overall commitment to the mission and values of the organization
- Follows all safety guidelines/policies, as well as OSHA guidelines/ Responsible for the general safety of all residents under his/her supervision/Uses On-call system appropriately
- Responsible for the administration and documentation of all medications and treatments as per medication certification as well as policies and procedures.
- Implements all program services and ensures teaching strategies, ensures all documentation occurs as individuals plans indicate.
- Implement recreation activities for all residents in the home according to their skill level and interests.
- Ensure all residents practice appropriate grooming and hygiene - this may include assisting with showering and clean up of bodily fluids
- Provides transportation for residents as needed. - must use personal vehicle while in process of obtaining PSL and/or when company van not available (may include transportation to airports in Hartford or NYC, camp, family home, etc)
- Ability to teach without parenting and encourage the highest degree of independence possible
