PRN/as needed position; availability required for evening, overnight and/or weekends hours.
The Community Living Instructor provides resident care and supervision to assigned residents and maintains resident environment and safety.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) to include but not limited to: bathing, showering, dressing and grooming, shaving, nail care, hair care, eating, making bed, laundry; document care given daily on Personal Care Documentation Form for residents as assigned
Also, assist serving meals to residents - Provide treatment interventions to residents in alignment with their individualized treatment plan
- Hourly resident checks as assigned
- Maintain resident Smoke Schedule and supervise residents for safety. Including stocking cigarettes
- Encourage residents to participate in activities, day program, socialization, work schedules, and regular exercise
- Monitor and document resident behavior (ICPR progress notes - three notes per shift)
- Assist client in meeting their general health needs, i.e., transporting to scheduled appointments for eye exam, routine physical exams, dental exams, yearly OB/GYN exams or follow-up testing as ordered by physician-this is indicated on the daily assignment sheet
- Administer medications as ordered by physician:
- Narcotic Count is done q shift
- Transcribing MD orders
- Ordering and reordering necessary medication/ supplies
- Signing in totes of medications received
- Documenting medications administered on MAR
- Review, Understand, and Adhere to the S26 Keaton ALF Manual.
- Review and Complete all necessary documentation as outlined in S26 Manual, including but not limited to: the Monthly census report; Daily Assignments; MARs and Control sheets; etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS & EXPOSURE RISK
Regular exposure to biohazard and chemical waste materials
High School/GED required
WORK EXPERIENCE
- At least one (1) year of work experience or self-employment required
- A valid unrestricted driver's license at the time of hire with the ability to obtain and maintain a class E MO driver's license by the end of 60-day introductory period required
