Direct Support Professional for In-Home Supports - Benhaven Inc

Benhaven Individual & Family Supports are looking for two (2) energetic, flexible professionals to work with our dynamic team throughout the South Central CT areas.  A great candidate must be able to work independently with families and individuals within the community. Come join us!!!

West Haven: 

Position 1: Hours: 25 hours (vacation hours accrued)

Schedule: Monday-Friday 3:00pm-8:00pm 

Status: Part time 

Position 2: Hours: 10 hours

Schedule: Saturday & Sunday 12:00pm-5:00pm

Responsibilities: 

The following duties are assigned to this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Work with individuals on the Autism Spectrum and possibly their families:

• Encourage building skills for independence
• Encourage and assist in increasing socialization
• Encourage and assist individuals with the pursuit of vocational opportunities
• Assist and provide opportunities for individuals to participate in recreational activities

Experience and Skill Requirements:

• 2 year's experience working with individuals with Autism and/or developmental disabilities a must
• Must have some familiarity with positive behavior supports
• Must pass a variety of background checks
• Must have a CT driver's license
• Must have a registered, insured vehicle which will pass a safety inspection in order to transport individuals int he community
