About the Job
Duties:1.Responsible for a program area and consumers, including curriculum development.2.Maintain daily safety for consumers on our early morning van run. Assist the consumers while entering and exiting our van according to the agency transportation policies.3.Responsible for providing activities and supervising another program area in the event a staff absence. 4. Assist in the transportation of consumers either during the morning van run or afternoon van run. This will include driving a van should the employee possess a driver’s license or being the van aide and assisting in all van aide related duties such as monitoring consumers, ensuring their safety, assisting consumers on and off the van, as well as contacting the consumers family and/or group home when needed.5. Participation in all levels of skill training, including assistance with toileting and dressing. 6. Recording of consumer incidents, behaviors, progress, etc. on specified forms.7. Adhere to all policies and procedures established by Pathways to Independence and Division of Developmental Disabilities.8. Perform all other duties as required by the nature of the position or as requested by the supervisor.Judgment/Initiative:Must effectively utilize supervision. Must be able to use good judgement, as determined by employer, in dealing with consumers and members of the community. Must demonstrate creativity and flexibility in developing methods and activities.Communication Skills:Must be able to communicate well in English, both in writing and verbally. Must communicate effectively with consumers, family members, state caseworkers, professionals, community members, and all levels of staff.
