We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals to empower these adults by providing essential in-home and community support.
Essential Duties:
- Support individuals in integrating into the community and improving their skills through various everyday activities at home and in the community to enhance their independence.
- Facilitate grocery shopping, doctor’s appointments and other activities either by providing or arranging transportations.
- Implement support strategies to achieve the individual's personalized goals such as physical actives, navigating the local community, and other activities based on interests.
- Work together to complete housing applications and navigate government assistance programs.
- Aid in monthly budgeting for effective household management and daily necessities.
- Complete and submit accurate daily progress notes for each shift worked with the individuals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree OR a High School Diploma (or equivalent) AND at least 2 years of relevant community-based experience providing services to individuals with disabilities.
- Valid driver's license and active car insurance.
- Willingness to drive individuals in personal cars throughout the community when necessary.
- Willing to comply with required policies, standards, and regulations. Including but not limited to background, reference, and driving record checks.
- Must be available to work at least 4 hours per day, between 8 AM and 5 PM, with flexible days offered.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
