$500 HIRINGBONUS!
As an added benefit, ARCO is currentlyoffering a $500 sign-on bonus for new Field Support employees. To be eligibleapplicants must meet all hiring requirements, complete all trainingrequirements, and must not have terminated employment with ARCO within the lastsix months.
*Note: Thebonus is paid out over three months for full-time employees hired and proratedover five months for part-time employees hired. If employment ends for anyreason prior to the payout schedule noted, the remaining bonus dollars will beforfeited.
JOBDESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicatedDirect Support Worker (DSW) who can work in the capacity of Field Supportemployee to join our team. DSW’s are responsible for providing support andassistance to individuals with I/DD. The DSW provides participants with thesupport needed to learn to become self-supportive, to engage in activities andto provide repetition of learning opportunities helping to developcommunication, self-care, and decision-making skills. DSWs employees play a crucial role in helping us achieve ourgoals and make a positive impact by increasing the participants’ independenceand involvement in the community.
A Field Support DSW has the aboveresponsibilities and is able to work a fluctuating schedule. This employee is trained with multipleparticipants and is able to work any shift/schedule, day, evening or night,from Monday to Friday.
To be a successful weekday Field Support worker you must:
- Be available to work any shift during the 24-hours Monday-Friday, the days worked and number of hours per shift may vary.
- Be able to accommodate schedule changes asneeded for call-ins
- Be available to work 35-40 hours each week
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure participants receive support tosafely complete their day-to-day schedules
- Assist with personal hygiene and grooming,light housecleaning, meal preparation, shopping and errands, medicalappointments, medication administration and other activities
- Assist in maintaining an organized, cleanand safe household for the well-being of participants
- Plan and implement engaging activities topromote socialization and community involvement
- Handle and use adaptive equipment includingwheelchairs, walkers, lifts, etc.
- Document participants’ daily activities
HIRINGREQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Able to pass a complete criminalrecord/background check and pre-employment drug screen
- Provide a current, valid driver’s license(no suspensions or blocks) and social security card
- Have a dependable vehicle for use on the joband be able to provide evidence of insurance, registration, and vehicleinspection
- Possess good writing skills and have theability to use a computer (PC) and tablet
- Be comfortable working with variousparticipants who may have a variety of disabilities and various levels ofcompetency and dependency
- Must have a general knowledge of communityresources, personal health and personal/home safety, financial matters (i.e.general banking/budgeting skills), as well as basic nutrition with the abilityto cook
- Be able to perform the physical requirementsof the job
- Previous DSW experience preferred, but notrequired
