Our financial advisory services department is seeking a Controller to service our mid to enterprise size clients. Our ideal candidate is a CPA with prior experience at a well-reputed accounting firm (preferably big 4). They are customer-centric, have a strong business acumen, and have experience working with a wide array of industry verticals that can range from professional services, distribution, technology, etc...
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting operations, including oversight of financial statements.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Manage cash and funding balances.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Manage accounting teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, Graduate degree preferred.
- CPA or CIA designation
- 8 years+ of overall accounting experience.
- 3 years+ of experience as a hands-on Controller/ CFO including companies that range from midsize to enterprise ($500 million annual revenue).
- Experience with SEC reporting is a strong asset
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
