Position Summary:
Reports to the Regional Facility Administrator, Behavioral Health. Manage the corrections behavioral health services and programs. Work closely with the Corporate Health Services Team and Health Services Administrators, as well as the facility mental health teams.
Essential Functions:
+ Select, design, and implement curricula for staff training and resident programs that align with best practices in mental health intervention and treatment.
+ Identify and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to establish and maintain mental health continuous quality improvement practices including peer review.
+ Lead and/or support the implementation of departmental initiatives related to behavioral health.
+ Identify and implement innovative strategies for incorporating evidence-based correctional practices into the provision of mental healthcare.
+ Conduct research and report findings as needed.
+ Provide ongoing training and support for mental health and other staff.
+ Maintain multidisciplinary teams to form a comprehensive approach diagnostic, treatment planning, and other assessment practices and appropriate matching to behavioral health services.
+ Travel to correctional, detention, and other facilities or programs sites, the MTC corporate office, training locations, and other events for the purpose of conducting MTC business.
+ Assist with completing internal audits related to the provision of behavioral health services.
+ Identify and monitor data for internal data system and create and monitor performance measures for mental health services delivery.
+ Review mental health audit findings and assist in developing comprehensive corrective action plans as needed.
+ Develop innovative, evidence-based strategies to incorporate into new proposals and contracts.
+ Assist in developing and implementing new and revised policies and procedures affecting behavioral health services. Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with overall facility objectives and customer requirements.
+ Maintain accountability of property; adhere to safety practices.
+ Demonstrate a commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.

+ It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
+ Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology and full-time clinical experience providing behavioral health services to justice-involved populations for at least five years.
+ License to practice psychology in at least one state is required.
+ Supervisory experience preferred.
+ Must have conducted formal training for staff related to direct service delivery to justice-involved individuals.
+ Must have a strong foundation and understanding of effective therapeutic interventions, services, and best practices in policy and procedure for incarcerated persons with behavioral health treatment needs.
