Position Summary
Serving as a Director of ECU Health Biomedical Programs, this senior leader is responsible for the oversight of the people, standards, processes, equipment, and systems to manage reliability and performance of all medical and assigned non-medical electronic equipment. This role ensures regulatory compliance with The Joint Commission and other regulatory/licensing/accreditation agencies, and stays informed, educated, and aligned with all applicable standards and regulations.
Director of ECU Health Biomedical Programs is also responsible for helping with appliable equipment selection, equipment lifecycle management planning and managing 3rd party service relationships for the complex equipment environment to deliver highly reliable medical equipment. This role also oversees Central Services team and assures the efficiency, quality and timeliness of the Central Services and other associated functions.
Collaborates with ECU Health Information Technology, Clinical Informatics and Cyber Security teams to assure and assure optimal technical architecture, interoperability and cyber-security of the assigned technologies and services. Is responsible for appropriate cross-training and specialized training to support these tasks.
Provides technical assistance to medical staff and other healthcare professionals. Provides contracted Biomedical Services to affiliated hospitals and organizations as needed and oversees special projects in new and existing construction as pertaining to assigned responsibilities of the role.
Serves on Hospitals Value Analysis Committee, EOC Committee, Equipment Review Committee, and various other committees as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or education Advanced Diploma Or Associate College Degree- or higher:
- Electronic Technology
- Electronic Servicing or Biomedical Engineering
- Manufacturers training on specific pieces of medical equipment.
- Registration or Certification:
- Must be certified by the International Certification Commission for Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Technology.
- Related Work Experience
- More than 6 years
- Supervising a Biomedical Department or working as a Clinical Engineer.
