Job Summary:
The Director of Cath Lab is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing program development, assessing opportunities in line with the department and hospital business plans, and managing multiple cost centers/departments. This position ensures compliance with healthcare standards and promotes optimal health care delivery. The Director closely monitors financial performance, including profit and loss, revenue generation, and expenditure control, and adjusts staffing and resources to streamline costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate program development and evaluate proposed procedural changes related to patient care.
- Oversee and direct multiple cost centers/departments to achieve hospital and network objectives.
- Ensure compliance with Standards of Care to promote optimal health care delivery.
- Monitor financial performance, adjust staffing, and manage resources to optimize operations.
- Function in an advisory capacity to develop and implement procedural changes.
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Required: Associate degree from an accredited nursing school with a bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or a BSN.
- Preferred: Master’s in Nursing (MSN) or a master’s in a healthcare-related field.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Additional certifications as required for staff nurses in managed areas.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Demonstrated professional judgment and ability to communicate, mediate, and problem-solve effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Requirements:
- The hospital complies with federal, state, and local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. If offered this position, you must show proof of full vaccination or obtain a religious or medical exemption before the start date. If exempt, regular testing as per the law is required.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain an active and current RN license in the state of residence/practice.
- Exhibit highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrate proven leadership ability and hospital operational competence.
- Serve as a role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing.
Experience:
- Required: Minimum of 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse/related position.
