How you'll contribute:
- Devises and implements clinical outsourcing strategies
- Translates Kymera's strategy, evolving portfolio and financial value creation goals into a clinical outsourcing strategy that meets these requirements
- Develops and formalizes partnerships with key clinical suppliers
- Leads/facilitates development of key clinical supplier selection strategies for individual programs, using outsourcing processes designed to deliver the highest value (performance/financial) and that drive cross functional endorsement
- Represents Kymera in a way that attracts the best suppliers and the best people within those suppliers
- Leads internal business case development in support of functional build
- Liaises with the head of strategic sourcing to ensure that Kymera sourcing strategies are consistent and not conflicting across business areas.
- Drives delivery and performance from Kymera's clinical outsourcing suppliers and contracts through supplier relationship management and partnership building
- Oversee and lead governance activities (i.e., Executive Oversight Committee and Joint Operating Committee) for key clinical suppliers
- Clarifies performance expectations from both Kymera and the supplier
- Identifies and maintains program outsourcing performance metrics/KPIs and uses effective, bi-directional feedback to drive continuous improvement of quality, cost and time
- Helps Kymera's programs and functions capture full impact from clinical outsourcing
- Maintains concise, user-friendly standard outsourcing processes that embed continuous learning across programs
- Coach collaboration between Kymera and the suppliers
- Provide input into planning of clinical programs through the use of supplier insights
- Create channels for systematic capture of expertise from our suppliers on innovations in trial practices and Kymera's therapeutic areas
- In collaboration with Kymera Strategic Sourcing function, implements best practices for supplier qualification, contracting and financial management
- Ensure end-to-end communication between QA, legal, procurement, and finance for effective vendor qualification, Master Clinical Service Agreement and Scope of Work development, and financial forecasting and reviews
Skills and experience you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in related field and 10+ years' experience in Clinical Drug Development outsourcing
- A proven track record of creating clinical outsourcing strategies that deliver value
- Exceptional negotiation skills and a tenacious problem-solver with a focus on building mutually beneficial relationships
- In-depth understanding of industry standards and applicable guidelines; FDA regulations and ICH GCP knowledge
- Extensive experience managing CROs, vendors, budgets, and timelines
- Experience developing Clinical Operations metrics
- Proven leadership experience with the desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed, start-up environment
- Strong collaboration and team-working, communication and organizational skills required
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills necessary
- Ability to prioritize and manage time demand, incomplete information, and unexpected events
- A detailed understanding of overall strategic direction, interrelationships and business needs
- Experience working with all levels of management and consulting with key business stakeholders. An ability to influence for greater outcomes
- Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution-oriented
This position is based in Watertown, MA, and offers a hybrid work model with a minimum of 3 days/week in the office.
