Growing together.The Director of Cloud Security Engineering is responsible for overseeing the security of all cloud-based systems and data within an organization
This role involves developing and implementing security policies, managing a team of security professionals, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
The Director of Cloud Security Engineer will assist with the design, deployment, and operationalization of Azure, AWS, and GCP security posture of UnitedHealth Group, with a focus on enabling effective and efficient incident response
This role will be a primary contributor to the Cloud Alignment Team that governs enterprise-wide cloud security strategy, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
The position will be part of the Cloud Security Engineering Team within the Enterprise Information Security group. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely

as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:Develop and implement comprehensive cloud security strategies and policiesLead and mentor a team of cloud security engineersConduct validation and assurance of security standards and configurationsCollaborate with IT and other lines of business to ensure security measures align with business objectivesDesign and deploy secure cloud architectures and solutionsCollaborate with IT, DevOps, and other departments to integrate security into all stages of the cloud development lifecycleStay updated on the latest security threats and trends to proactively address potential risksEnsure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)Manage incident response and recovery processes in the event of a security breachProvide training and guidance to staff on cloud security best practicesYou’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:10+ years of IT experience 5+ years of cloud security, including leadership roles2+ years of leadership experience with HR accountabilities 4+ years of experience and a solid understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)2+ years Proficiency in security frameworks and standards (e.g., CIS Top 18, NIST, FedRamp). 4+ years of software development experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related fields Preferred Qualifications: Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSPSoftware engineering experience Experience with DevSecOps practicesKnowledge of automation and orchestration tools Familiarity with containerization and microservices security*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, Washington, D.C
Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $122,100 to $234,700 annually
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc
