About the Job
The Compliance Director, Strategic Partner Compliance will manage the Bank's compliance risk for assigned Strategic Partner's ("SPs").
Responsibilities-
Knowledge: Possess a strong knowledge of laws, regulations, supervisory guidance, and industry best practices applicable to the SP program. Including but not limited to UDAAP, UDAP, ECOA, EFTA, FDCPA, GLBA, FCRA, TILA, MLA, and SCRA.
Development, Implementation, & Administration: Oversee all aspects of the Strategic Partner's Compliance Management System ("CMS") in accordance with the Bank's own CMS requirements.
Exams & Audits: Coordinate and assist in the administration of independent, state, and federal examinations, reviews, and audits.
Monitoring: Perform regular monitoring activities including complaint management, issues management, early warning system, fair lending reviews, FCRA dispute oversight, red flags monitoring, marketing reviews, and others as assigned. transaction testing and monitoring and identify, track, and remediate Strategic Partner compliance issues.
2nd-line Testing: Assist in the development and execution of a 2nd-line compliance testing program.
Risk Assessment: Must have experience in the risk assessment process. This includes formal and informal risk assessments. Must be able to translate risk assessment results into actionable and relevant monitoring and testing activities.
Communication & Presentation: Communicate complex information to employees, management, strategic partners, and regulators. Present training materials, recommendations, and initiatives, as requested.
Reporting & Responding: Prepare and compile reports as scheduled or upon request from the VP of SP Compliance.
Recommendations & Guidance: Advise and provide guidance to the management team, SPs, and other stakeholders.
Projects & Other Job Duties: Ad hoc projects and other job duties, as assigned.
Timeliness: Must be able to work under strict SLAs and be able to communicate requests for deadline extensions in a timely manner.
Decision Making: Must be able to confidently make recommendations in a way that is consistent, explainable, and actionable.
Due Diligence: Execute due diligence activities as assigned. This may include due diligence with new products, SPs, or modifications of existing programs.
Specifications-
- Subject Matter Expert on lending rules and regulations, as applicable to Strategic Partners.
- Experience with small-dollar, high-cost loans is preferred by not required.
- Three to five years of experience in managing daily Strategic Partner compliance requirements.
- Experience with FDIC examination process and engaging with regulators.
- Experience with managing compliance risks associated with fintech partners and third-party relationships.
- Ability to use sound judgment and make critical decisions regarding compliance with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to write and revise policies and procedures for new and emerging regulatory developments and concerns.
- Ability to present complex information in an understandable and relatable manner when presenting to employees, Strategic Partners, and regulators.
- CRCM Certification preferred but not required.
