Director- Driver Operations - Epes Transport System, LLC

Job Overview:

We are looking for a Director Driver Operations to join our Operations team. The Director Driver Operations will be responsible for driver managers and multiple consolidated fleets of drivers assigned to Magtec equipped tractors- dedicated to handle high value cargo in General Commodity division.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma; some college preferred
• 5 years of relevant experience in the trucking industry (Truckload)
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and be a self-starter.
• Ability to plan and organize workload; flexibility to handle pressure and work with interruptions and meet deadlines; attention to detail.
• No conviction of felonies, serious crimes or have charges pending. However, a conviction is not an automatic disqualification of employment.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Occasional travel if needed.
• Willingness to learn and accept responsibility.

Responsibilities:

• Load planning responsibility for 1 or more areas that involve outbound commitments for high security customers.
• Coordinates with planners across multiple areas to maximize utilization of specific fleet, service to customers, retention of drivers and cost control.
• Coordinates with Customer service to ensure customer demand is met and maximizing revenue opportunities.
• Controls flow of Magtec equipment positioning for commitments to Altria, RJ Reynolds, or other high value freight requiring additional security.
• Communicates and coordinates with after-hours personnel on commitments, driver activity and with Recruiting/ HR for additional driver needs.
• Data collection, analysis and reporting to management as needed to ensure company profitability goals and metrics met
• Works with maintenance and equipment manager on specific Magtec functionality, ongoing, evaluation of needs to sustain fleet profitability, and minimize cost to new equipment.
• Demonstrates support to the Epes Transport System, LLC Quality Management System and its objectives, as applicable.
• Other duties may be assigned.
