Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Engineering plans, organizes, mentor and leads, controls, and coordinates the delivery of services in the areas of engineering, quality, and process development
This job is responsible for providing process engineering guidance, leadership, tactical execution, and business acumen to provide leadership, technical and operations support throughout the facility. Oversight of the building facilities and the implementation of new process and quality engineering processes to implement our client requirements and support site business goals
Primary objectives will be to implement and improve efficient Value-Added Services.This is an onsite role within our Lewisville TX facility.What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?Critical member of leadership team focused on driving down cost and improving performance while keeping our clients engagedDevelops, secures approval of, and administers an operating budget for attainment of agreed upon goals in accordance with approved plansServes as a liaison with account management, resolving any operational, system, client and product issues that may ariseEstablish, develop, maintain, and implement facilities policies, processes, procedures and structure within the boundaries established by the senior management team and corporate policy while ensuring no contradiction in federal, state and local operating regulatory laws primarily as it relates to engineering operations and related safety programsResponsible for the development, implementation, documentation, and monitoring of quality assurance standards, processes, and controlsMentor and develop the Process Engineering team into leadership positions by delegating areas of responsibilityDevelop and build a succession and support plan for critical areasDevelops, directs and monitors short-term and long-range engineering business plans and goals consistent with overall profit and growth objectives of the company that establishes operational standards for cost controlResponsible for the development and maintenance of an effective organization for area(s) of responsibility, including:Efficient work flow patternsEstablished performance standardsEffective delineation of duties and responsibilitiesSuitable staffing levelsAppropriate supervisionSystems for timely communication of pertinent informationEnsure that the business is operating and aligned with established regulatory procedures and company quality standardsActively support regulatory efforts with continual improvement and corrective actions, as neededResponsible for the provision of services in engineering including (but not limited too); development, installation, and provide support of new and existing engineering and automation processes, development and implementation of new product introduction processes, new repair/logistics process development, development of client/product implementation system support, and customer serviceLeveraging Lean 6 Sigma principles for the development, implementation, documentation, and monitoring of an ongoing repair, logistics, and quality assurance programsCollaborate with and support product development teams to assist with new product development and process modificationsCreate and/or modify processes to allow for the processing and servicing of new accounts and products, as well as improving existing processes when practical and cost effectiveWhat are the requirements needed for this position?Bachelor’s degree in engineeringSeven pkus years of leadership experience managing complex engineering, quality, electronics, product development and test operationsAbility to handle multiple priorities concurrently in a fast-paced, high-volume, and team-based environmentCapable interpersonal skills with a collaborative team approachPossess advanced analytical, data management, critical thinking, organizational, research, oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detailAbility to drive execution and meet required deadlinesAbility to develop, write, and manage policies and proceduresPossess strong influencing, negotiating, and relationship building skillsAbility to deliver timely and valuable feedback to othersAbility to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experiencePerform effectively when changes in priorities, direction and resources occurProblem solving ability and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and align activities and priorities to meet organizational goalsAbility to maintain confidentialityThorough knowledge of business processesOpen-minded and flexible, focusing on operational outcomes that are consistent with organizational objectivesAbility to process complex time sensitive data and information from multiple sources, make decisions based on this data, and to effectively communicate the related required actions to a broad audienceSelf-motivation to independently work to complete multiple projects/tasks in a timely and accurate fashion;
