The Director of Engineering plays a pivotal role in overseeing and directing all engineering activities across our manufacturing facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient operation of our engineering departments, driving innovation, optimizing processes, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
•Leadership and Strategic Planning: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the engineering teams across multiple sites.
•Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
•Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
•Team Management and Development: Recruit, train, and develop a highly skilled and motivated engineering workforce.
•Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the engineering teams.
•Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support career development opportunities for team members.
•Engineering Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of engineering departments, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.
•Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production output, quality metrics, and resource utilization.
•Implement best practices in manufacturing processes, including stamping, CNC machining, tool and die design, welding, powder coating, and metal fabrication.
•Project Management: Lead cross-functional teams to execute engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and budget compliance.
•Coordinate with other departments such as production, procurement, and quality assurance to support project objectives.
•Manage resources effectively to prioritize and execute projects based on strategic importance and operational needs.
•Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices related to engineering operations.
•Champion a culture of safety throughout the organization, promoting adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
Credentials and Experience
•10+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment
•Current experience leading and managing a technical team
•Ability to anticipate challenges and offer sound solutions
•Capable of preparing and presenting presentations to management and customers is required
•General knowledge of ITAR regulations
•Working knowledge of engineering software - CATIA, SolidWorks
•B.S. in Engineering or equivalent work experience
