THE ROLE
The Executive Search practice within Ferguson Partners seeks a Director based in Chicago or New York to lead our Healthcare Real Estate practice, focused on serving Seniors Housing clients nationally. As a key member of our client-facing team, this individual will be instrumental in initiating and executing senior level searches, working with top-tier clients on a variety of senior management, C-Suite, and Board level roles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help establish the Search strategy for the Healthcare Real Estate practice and lead the execution of search engagements throughout the U.S., including client relationship management, the presentation of qualified candidates, and candidate development, evaluation, and referencing.
- Qualify potential candidates through initial conversations, discussing the client and opportunity and exploring candidates’ backgrounds, competencies, references, and interest in the role.
- Proactively develop and maintain relationships with potential candidates or sources, utilizing those networks to assist with candidate recruitment.
- Draft or provide input on relevant documentation, including confidential candidate reports and client update reports, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Update and maintain in-house proprietary databases while adhering to local and global data quality standards and efficient research practices.
- Lead business development efforts by proactively identifying new clients and developing relationships within the Seniors Housing, Medical Office Building, Life Science and Healthcare real estate industries.
- Collaborate with business line leaders in Compensation, Management, and Leadership Consulting, as well as senior leadership, to compete and execute at the highest level.
- Represent the firm in real estate organizations and associations as well as other networking, industry, and firm-sponsored events (for example, NIC, ASHA, Argentum).
- Gather and share client intelligence, market insights, and business leads across the organization.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of demonstrated success in implementing creative recruitment strategies and executing search assignments across multiple engagements.
- Proven understanding of process management and client care, with the ability to deliver excellent client outcomes and serve as an advisor to anticipate holistic solutions to clients’ most pressing needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability to articulate Ferguson Partners’ story and vision to new and existing clients.
- Hands-on doer who is focused on execution and results.
- High level of professionalism, confidence, and clarity when dealing with colleagues, clients, and candidates.
- Sound judgment with the ability to deal with confidential and sensitive matters effectively.
- Ability to work in Ferguson Partners’ office two days per week and ability to travel 20% of the time.
