Job Summary:
The Director, Field Applications Engineering, Solution Enablement will be part of a growing, dynamic, highly focused Solutions Enablement/Field Engineering team chartered with the task of developing new as well as expanding existing opportunities in the global IT market. Special focus is on identifying rack level solution needs for the enterprise and hyper-scale customers, be it the traditional workloads or the next generation AI generative use cases. An ideal candidate is one who has wide industry contacts and has the passion to "do the right thing" for the customer. Once the business and technical requirements are translated into feasible solutions, the role will be required to partner very closely with cross-functional engineering teams, to deliver the solutions for a timely deployment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
• Leverage past experience and industry contacts to bring in new technical opportunities and POC engagements
• Manage the complex and dynamic relationship with large technology partners to deliver innovative total IT solutions to customers and make strong impacts on revenue growth
• Act as the business owner and leader to drive a large cross-company and cross-functional team to exceed customer's expectations and enable Supermicro's green computing technology
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize, solve problems with a sense of urgency
• Strong technical background and experience working in IT and data center environment. Familiar with server and storage products
• Supreme leadership and communications skills
• Some travel required
Qualifications:
• Bachelors' or Masters' degree in engineering or business discipline; computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering preferred
• 15+ years in an IT or semiconductor industry with experience in at least one of the following roles: product management, FAE, technology alliance, business development, technology / solution enablement, customer advocacy
• Experience in accelerator-based computing such as GPUs and FPGAs a strong plus
• Excellent relationship management, negotiation, and marketing skills
• Solid communication skills in both verbal and written, able to communicate with high level (preferably C-level executive) clients effectively
• Strong leadership - able to manage multi-functional team with high efficiency, able to resolve complex issues and deliver results under pressure and stringent deadline
• Lead in solution development, work with design, testing engineers to enable new enterprise and data center solutions
• Support in pre-sales engagement by working with customers closely and providing creative solutions that meet requirements of demanding customers
• Manage solution integration projects from design to delivery, achieving the best customer satisfaction
• Improve revenue by collaborating with channel and technology partners to expand the ecosystem
• Improve revenue by working with sales, marketing closely and promoting new solutions effectively
• Provide solution training to internal organization stakeholders, partners, resellers and end customers
• Actively engage industry experts to evangelize Supermicro Rack and Building block solutions
Salary Range
$214,000 - $227,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
