Job Description:
The position can be based out of any CDM Smith office, in the U.S. nationwide.
We offer in office or hybrid working environments allowing for flexible work options.
• Establishes and maintains strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
• Provides senior management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
• Provides recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
• Provides leadership to the unit in the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
• Manages processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the firm.
• Evaluates and advises on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action.
• Directs the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive cost structure for the unit.
• Ensures that effective internal controls are in place in the unit and ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
• Manages the day to day activity of staff.
• Provides feedback on performance issues appraisals. Manages the development and training of staff.
• Approves paid time off (PTO) requests and ensures human resources policies are followed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree.
• 15 years of related experience with at least 5 of those years in a management or leadership capacity.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Skills and Abilities:
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of GAAP, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance and Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting.
• Hands on experience with a variety of Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
• Superior communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence – ability to motivate staff.
• Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills. Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls and compliance-related issues.
