The Global Health Equity team advances equitable access to quality care through championing nurses and community health workers, enabling community centered and culturally conscious care and supporting access to our medicines and technologies.
Through global partnerships, programs, advocacy, and communications, we equip healthcare workers with the skills they need to provide quality care, foster a diverse and inclusive health work force to support equitable care, and support health workers connection to communities and health systems to improve access to care.
As Director, Global Healthcare Workforce Strategy and Programs, you will use your leadership and strategic capabilities to help drive J&J's enterprise global healthcare workforce strategy - as you translate insights into transformational program solutions, assets, and communications, identify and action catalytic grant-funding opportunities to innovative organizations, and measure our collective impact. The role will report into the Global Lead, Global Healthcare Workforce Strategy and Programs, and will develop a team of a Sr. Manager and Manager of Healthcare Workforce Strategy and Programs.
You will collaborate with global leaders and partners, as you engage cross-functional Global Health Equity team members and leaders from across J&J Innovative Medicine and J&J MedTech and make a lasting difference by engaging and learning from NGOs, multilateral health organizations, foundations, private sector innovators, and others.

The role requires proven experience in the development and execution of marketing and health equity strategies, execution, and communication and ability to drive collaboration and partnership across the enterprise and externally, and effective leadership and development of a team, among other qualifications listed below. among other qualifications listed below.
Major Responsibilities:
Strategy Development and Activation of Global Health Equity Programs
• Lead the strategy development of J&J Global Health Equity Team initiatives - including the J&J health equity business matching funds program, community impact grants, and My Health Can't Wait community wellness events.
• Lead key elements of wholistic Healthcare Workforce Strategy & Programs Team strategy, including annual business planning and long-range financial planning, in collaboration with various functions of the J&J Global Health Equity Team.
• Develop and oversee the strategy for the proactive and efficient sharing of GHE health equity communications, assets, and events to enable J&J employees to learn about and J&J health equity programs and communicate the same to external stakeholders.
• Guide and develop Sr. Manager and Manager direct reports in their support and execution of the above mentioned and other health equity programs.
Strategy and Activation of the J&J Signature Health Equity Communications Platform / Campaign
• Lead the strategy development and execution of the J&J signature health equity communications platform/campaign, in partnership with the J&J GHE Communications Team.
• Partner with internal and external partners to curate and elevate J&J health equity impact stories within the campaign, and drive the creative and communications development, media execution, and measurement of campaign impact.
Internal and External Alignment and Partnership
• Build and strengthen relationships internally - with J&J leaders in the J&J IM and J&J MedTech Sectors, Global Corporate Affairs, and Government Affairs & Policy, and externally - with global community, healthcare workforce, and health system partners.
• Represent the Healthcare Workforce Strategy & Programs Team within cross-functional meetings & forums within GHE and broader J&J to drive integrated health equity strategy, execution, and impact.
• Serve as a J&J ambassador for global health equity and healthcare workforce engagements and events, to build trust in our organization and enhance the reputation of J&J.
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required
- A minimum of 10 years in business and/or healthcare leadership roles and commercial marketing leadership roles is required
- Experience with stakeholder engagement, business leadership, executive presence, proficiency with "dot connecting", influencing without authority, creating long term impact and enhancing the reputation of organization is required
- Experience in Health Equity is a strong asset.
- Strong marketing experience inclusive of launching and leading paid media campaigns and owned social media strategies and long-range strategic business plans.
- Track record designing ground-breaking programs for healthcare professionals and patients with positive outcomes.
- Deep understanding of healthcare, the needs of patients and the nurses, healthcare workers, and providers who serve them.
- Able to anticipate trends, envision the future and inspire change.
- Highly analytical, able to see through data and identify actionable insights.
- Strong strategic ability to think creatively, conceptually and critically to solve challenging problems.
- Creative! You are a never-ending source of innovative ideas to solve ambitious problems.
- Strong leadership experience managing dedicated, hard-working teams.
- Global experience leading diverse teams across multiple geographies.
- Developing and managing strong collaborative partnerships internally and externally. Experience in working with nurse and healthcare organizations, government and regulatory officials, and NGOs is preferred.
- Managing external vendors and agencies to produce quality work.
- Outstanding communication and leadership presentation skills.
- Able to navigate across a matrixed, global organization and influence by building strong working relationships.
- Project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and make difficult tradeoff decisions.
- Understanding of health equity challenges facing people in resource-limited settings around the world.
- Passion for the important role that J&J can play to help improve access to quality healthcare.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
