Job Summary
The Director of Global Talent and Organization Capability will be responsible for leading the Learning and Talent Center of Excellence (COE) and as such will be responsible to assess, create, and lead organization development efforts that support Quaker’s business strategies. They will be responsible for developing and executing strategies and deliverables aligned to the global talent management strategy and will include a focus on talent assessment, learning and development, performance management, engagement, etc. This is a senior role within the global HR team reporting to the VP or Talent and Organizational Capability.
The Director of Global Talent and Organization Capability will lead a team focused on delivery of global programs that are leveraged throughout the enterprise while ensuring that locally delivered programs are aligned to the global approach.
What will you do
The Director of Global Talent and Organization Capability interacts with key business leaders and the larger HR team in a global organization and provides support for learning and development programs in 30 plus countries. The Director partners with all the business functions and subsidiaries (e.g. Commercial, Operations, Grease businesses, other functional areas and subsidiaries).
- Conduct annual organization needs assessment to create the people development strategy to inform learning, development and career planning deliverables – operate as an internal consultant with HR and Business Leads for ongoing learning and development needs.
- Lead team of global learning and talent professionals in the development, coordination, delivery and analysis of learning programs including professional development, managerial development, bespoke business programs (as needed), etc.
- Create and lead ways of working (RACIs) within the COE and ensure proper handoffs of work within the team and when partnering with hr business partners to execute key talent initiatives.
- Build and create consistent talent reporting and analytics.
- Partner with internal resources to achieve talent and learning Sustainability goals including assessment, vendor relations, strategy development, program delivery and support of current initiatives.
- Partner with HR Operations to continually evaluate learning and performance technologies – manage current vendor relationships and source new technologies as needed.
- Responsible to ensure the annual performance management process is conducted, aligned with Total Rewards and provides opportunities for goal alignment, ongoing coaching and performance differentiation.
- Continually research new approaches for engaging and developing talent and look for opportunities to evolve and improve current processes.
- Build and conduct leadership development programs.
- Support additional learning programs within adjacent functional groups (examples: compliance, safety, security, etc.)
- Lead the annual talent and organization review including talent reviews, succession planning, critical role analysis, etc.
What do we look for
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline required; Master’s degree preferred. Certification in assessment and psychometric tools preferred.
- 8+ years of Learning and Development and Global Talent Management experience is required.
- Excellent presentation skills and expertise with PowerPoint. Ability to distill information down into simple, easy to follow presentations to educate leadership and HR business partners.
- Needs to have strong consulting, facilitation, coaching and training/platform skills; experience with conducting needs analysis, learning program design/development and delivery; deep understanding of organization development and group dynamics; managing third party firms; leading performance management; global experience preferred.
- He or she will need to have a working knowledge of the methodologies and technological systems as related delivering learning and development tools in a corporate environment.
- This role will need to function autonomously and thus this individual should exhibit a high degree of independence, energy, professional maturity, analytic competence and sound judgment in problem solving and decision making.
- Strong consultative orientation is a must as well as well as the ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Outlook, Word and Excel. In learning e-learning systems knowledge.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret metrics/reports.
