- Job Summary
- Provides overall leadership and management and establishes and guides the strategic and operational goal and objectives of all programs and services of the Harbor Family Center for implementing the overall Missions of Children’s Harbor and Children’s of Alabama. Responsible for carrying out the philosophy, mission, vision, and policies and procedures of the Family Center. Responsibility includes the development and effective implementation of a full range of psychosocial services including but not limited to, a professional family therapy program, support services, community outreach, collaboration, and other family support programs. Represents the Family Center in the hospital, community, and assures effective working relationships with other disciplines, departments, and community agencies essential to the success of Harbor Family Center. Ensures that the Family Center takes a leadership role toward the advancement of family-centered care in meeting the psychosocial needs of very sick children and their families.
- Education
- Master's degree in a human services-related field from an accredited educational institution preferred.
- Experience
- Five years (or equivalence of) of multi-level supervisory experience in organizational leadership, management, staff, and program development
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in management, and supervisory skills, family counseling dynamics and various therapeutic interventions; human relations/management skills including diplomacy and teambuilding; some grant writing experience.
- Experience in working in mental and health administration strongly preferred.
- Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
- Professional license/certification in area of specialty (i.e. social work, counseling, psychology, etc)
Location: Children's of Alabama · Harbor Family Center
Schedule: Full-time, Day shift, 8am-4:30pm
