Summary - basic function of the role
Director, Indirect Material and Services
Reporting directly to the VP of Procurement, this role will be charged with leading the Indirect Sourcing team to support operations and several functional areas. Primary responsibility includes leading a team of category managers to develop strategies which will drive incremental value for the enterprise by leveraging our operational spend such as MRO and Energy along with functional professional services spend related to HR, IT, Marketing, Legal, Finance and T&E. In addition, this position is also responsible for the o ptimization of indirect spend processes and establishes governance and compliance for indirect procurement activities.
Location: Milwaukee, WI (Menomonee Falls until Move in March 2025)
Shift: Monday - Friday; 8 - 4:30 pm or 8:30 - 5:00 pm; flexible

Senior Leadership Support
- Develop strategic sourcing / purchasing plans that support the future profitability of the business
- Supports senior leadership team members at Enerpac across several functional areas with their procurement needs. Becomes a key partner for the senior leadership team and other senior stakeholders.
- Maintains a high level of professionalism while supporting the organization.
- Demonstrates an understanding of business needs and requirements.
- Directs the indirect team towards efforts that are aligned with Enerpac leadership's goals.
- Works in partnership with key stakeholders to ensure their requirements are being met by their indirect category managers.
Team Leadership
- Develops a culture of service and support for Enerpac stakeholders
- Provides the guidance and support needed to make the team successful as mentor and coach

Category Leadership
- Responsible for all aspects of the indirect team's focus on category management including developing category strategies and executing strategic sourcing events prioritizing based upon the highest spend, greatest complexity, and most critical/strategic categories creating the largest impact.
- Leads category spend analysis and supplier segmentation.
- Responsible for the indirect procurement policies and processes
- Responsible for reporting value realization by the team
- Supports and leads RFx processes and category management, if needed
- Develops a deep level of understanding of the global supply base.
- Responsible to ensure all risk, compliance and legal requirements related to procurement are followed
Driving Value to the Organization
- Works with leadership to set value targets for the team
- Collaborate with Department leaders to manage stakeholder relationships and achieve buy-in for the Sourcing and Procurement strategies
- Collaborates cross-functionally to develop a pipeline for future projects.
- Supports cross functional departments with supplier negotiation, contract execution, purchase requisition training for services and indirect material spend.
- Drives cross-functional project implementation, controls, and training for indirect material sourcing activities, as well as providing related corporate-wide communication and direction.
- Analyze current spend and find areas to improve service, reduce costs, and streamline purchasing procedures
Supplier Relationship Management
- Responsible for developing and managing supplier relationship management (SRM)
- Manages and develops strategic supplier alliances with a select group of suppliers to assure a preferred status for Enerpac in negotiations
Operational and Automation Support
- Leads the indirect procurement spend analytics process to maintain access to accurate category level spend data
- Identify opportunities to optimize and streamline our procurement processes, from sourcing to payment (S2P), to ensure operational efficiency and cost savings.
- Implement best practices and leverage technology to drive automation and standardization
- Provides support for on-going PO management activities

- Knowledge of indirect category procurement strategies and processes within a manufacturing environment
- Superior negotiation skills with the experience in developing team members skills
- Procurement knowledge: Deep understanding of procurement category management, stakeholder management and negotiations; have a desire to continually learn about evolving procurement opportunities
- Strong listening skills and ability to work with senior leaders - inside and outside of the organization - to understand their goals and objectives; share project objectives and progress in a clear concise manner.
- Strong analytical and presentation skills: have a strong ability to analyze significant amount of data and summarize findings or options for senior leadership
- Strategic thinking: able to "see around corners," synthesize insights from disparate data sources, and present recommendations and alternatives.
- Desire to be a supportive and proactive business partner across the organization.
- Ability to show resilience over time and collaborate across multiple functions and organizational levels
Experiences that will support your success
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 10 years of experience in procurement in a manufacturing environment
- At least 5 years of team leadership
- Experience within an Oracle based ERP environment
- Experience in Procurement within an international multi-site manufacturing and brand-based corporate environment
Physical Demands
Employee will have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee is able to work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time.
Work Environment
Primary work environment is temperature-controlled office setting, but may also include typical warehouse environment on occasion, where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required. Employee will be exposed to low levels of noise in an office.
