The anticipated salary range for this role is between $175,000.00 and $201,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
Deliver and implement learning curricula to support the enhancement of employee skills, competencies and development. Recommend strategic learning interventions designed to increase individual and organizational productivity and performance. Create content and materials that support business results, the overall learning strategy and employee development.
Role Objectives: Delivery
Deliver and implement learning curricula that supports the enhancement of employee skills, competencies and development. Recommend strategic learning interventions (across multiple delivery methods and formats) designed to increase individual and organizational productivity and performance. Create content and materials that support business results, the overall learning strategy and develop employees. Work with the firm's LMS (learning management system) platform and/or directly partner with global learning team to ensure appropriate deployment, tracking and training of the workforce. Generate and/or analyze learning-related reporting to present / communicate results to applicable stakeholders. Conduct needs analysis and consistently evaluate learning results to proactively identify gaps, trends and new opportunities to improve learning interventions.
Role Objectives: Interpersonal
Build strong relationships with business lines through the delivery of client-focused learning solutions to be a trusted partner. Cross-network with other learning specialists to leverage best practices / functional efficiencies. Provide consultative guidance and partnership to HRBPs to build stronger connectivity to the business line and deepen understanding of learning needs. Partner closely with compliance, legal and risk management regarding conduct- and regulator-related training to ensure alignment and gather important training feedback. Collaborate with and/or manage external learning vendors to ensure content, visuals and overall employee experience will enable targeted skill / competencies development and business outcomes.
Role Objectives: Expertise
Utilize experience, training, credentials, certifications and/or education (i.e., B.A./B.S.) to maintain credibility with business line(s) and other partners to serve as the SME (subject matter expert) for all learning and development initiatives. Conduct needs analysis with business line(s) to customize learning interventions that are tailored to skill / knowledge / performance gaps, sector, geography and other variables. Evaluate competencies and skills needed to help establish clear career pathways. Apply learning principles and expertise when designing learning programs, writing instructional / training materials and/or other required coursework for internal clients. Have expertise and/or certifications in executive coaching, personality assessments (i.e., MBTI), behavioral assessments (i.e., Predictive Index), group dynamics (Tuckman's Theory), project management, etc. to help deliver a wide variety of needed L&D solutions to clients. Educate others regarding innovations, trends and research in the learning field to demonstrate the unique learning knowledge and expertise that the learning role brings to the business.
