Job Summary
The Director of Logan Center Facilities and Operations has overall
responsibility for ensuring that the facility and operations advance the
artistic practice and creative scholarship of the University's students
and faculty and supports a vibrant set of arts programs presented in
partnership with colleagues and organizations at the University, in the
community and beyond. Working closely with each of the arts curricular,
and University and community partner programs that use the Logan Center,
the Director oversees facility operations, schedule management,
curricular space, and event support; supervises professional and student
operations staff; develops and monitors budgets; formulates plans for
building projects and ensures facility maintenance, custodial care, food
service operations, and safety and security advance the priorities of
the Logan Center and our many users. The Director reports directly to
the Executive Director of the Logan Center and works closely with
University Facilities Services to oversee all maintenance programs and
repairs.
Responsibilities
Develops and administers policies and procedures regarding the use of
the Logan Center that support the users of the Center and the long-term
condition of the Logan Center, its facilities, furniture, fixtures, and
equipment.
Manages facility scheduling with direct responsibility for scheduling
all shared and public spaces. Works closely with the University
Registrar to schedule classroom spaces. Works closely with departments
and programs in the Logan Center to coordinate scheduling across
unit-controlled spaces.
Manages and supports classrooms and curricular use of the Logan Center
working closely with the academic programs that use the Logan Center,
Registrar, and Logan Center Arts Technology team.
Manages overall event and program operations and production support
including working with University departments and external partners
hosting events and programs at the Logan Center, as well as, the Logan
Center Program and Engagement team.
Directs the day to-day operations, custodial, maintenance, repairs and
receiving needs for the Logan Center.
Works closely with University Facilities Services to provide senior
leadership to custodial, event set up, on-going routine maintenance, and
engineering.
Supports internally generated facility requests from faculty and staff
housed in the Center, including set-up, breakdown, repairs, and general
assistance with individual space and scheduling needs and projects.
Advises, coordinates and supervises events taking place in the Logan
Center.
Responsible for facility related regulatory compliance, emergency
preparedness, and sustainability efforts.
Works closely with the Department of Safety and Security to provide
senior leadership to access control and surveillance camera systems and
overall safety within the Center.
Supervises the Associate Director of Logan Center Production, Assistant
Director, and Evening & Weekend Manager. Supports managers who supervise
the Scheduling & Events Coordinator, Production Manager, and other
part-time and student staff
Works closely with the Assistant Director and University sub-contractors
to provide senior oversight of custodial and safety and security
personnel.
With Facilities Services, co-manages the Logan Center Building Engineer.
