Oshkosh Vocational is new to the Murfreesboro, Tennessee area and is looking to build an extraordinary team of purpose driven individuals. This leader will have an exciting opportunity to be a part of a brand-new start up location and will work onsite from the Murfreesboro, TN location. The Director of Manufacturing Operations will be responsible for establishing a world class culture of Safety, Quality, and Delivery within the Vocational segment of Oshkosh. This role will oversee operations for process such as but not limited to welding, fabrication, paint and electrical vehicle assembly operations.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Manufacturing Operations will lead our Murfreesboro, TN facility. This role will drive a People First Culture and lead the business operations by ensuring on-time delivery of products. The Director of Manufacturing Operations will drive operational excellence, identify and analyze new manufacturing technologies and best practices to support the overall business strategy. Through direct interactions with segment operations staff, this role will be instrumental in ensuring that Oshkosh sustains superior performance for our customers, shareholders, employees, and all stakeholders.
YOUR IMPACT:
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
+ Provide guidance and leadership of team members and leaders within manufacturing at multiple production facilities or one large facility with more than 600 team members or a small business unit.
+ Provide input to strategic plan for the segment manufacturing facilities, including timelines, reports, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and communications.
+ Interact with external customers and segment leadership on a frequent basis.
+ Work as a change agent with business segments and functional leaders.
+ Transfer lean/problem solving tools and skills into the organization through ensuring that team members are mentored and trained.
+ Enable the Plan, Do, Check, Act culture to create and execute countermeasures to barriers and issues preventing the achievement of business objectives.
+ Partner with peers within Operations to strategically select and develop operations talent for the organization.
+ Support contract/proposal development.
+ Support Profit & Loss (P&L) leaders in executing business plans by supporting the develop and implementation of activities to meet all safety, quality, cost, and production objectives.
+ Establish manufacturing objectives and work plans for multiple facilities; delegate assignments and ensure accountability.
+ Introduce standardized lean technicians and concepts including: value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Visual Controls, Pull/Kanban systems, standardized work, line balancing, etc. to support the deployment of the Oshkosh Continuous Improvement Management System (CIMS).
+ Coordinate between various cross-functional teams including operations engineering/technical support groups within Oshkosh on design/development initiatives of Global Manufacturing Operations projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
+ Ten (10) or more years of experience in manufacturing.
+ Five (5) or more management experience.

Pay Range:
$132,500.00 - $233,100.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
