Position Summary:
The Director of Marketing is responsible for the strategy, design, and development of the campaigns, programs, and services for Premium to drive the brand, retain existing members and generate new sales leads. The Director of Premium Marketing is a visionary leader with strong ability to reimagine the arenas communication and approach to the hospitality & entertainment marketplace to help the team keep pace with the wide array of offerings available throughout Los Angeles.
The Director of Premium Marketing is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives to drive sales of premium seating options at our sporting events. Primary objective is to lead a team of marketing professionals to identify and engage with potential premium clientele, while maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing customers.
The Director reports to the Vice President of Premium Business and interfaces with business intelligence, sales, servicing, digital and partnerships to meet business goals.
Essential Functions:
- Develop Marketing Strategy: Create an annual marketing plan in alignment with the organization's overall sales and revenue goals. This plan should encompass all aspects of premium seating sales, including luxury suites, VIP boxes, premium club memberships, and hospitality packages.
- Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a high-performing marketing team, providing clear direction, setting ambitious targets, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Brand Positioning: Establish and enhance the brand's positioning in the premium seating market. Ensure consistent messaging across all marketing materials and platforms, reflecting the exclusivity and value of our premium offerings.
- Digital Marketing: Oversee the implementation of digital marketing campaigns, including email marketing, social media, search engine marketing, and retargeting efforts to reach target audiences and generate leads.
- Partnerships and Sponsorships: Collaborate with the partnerships and sponsorships team to leverage relevant partnerships and sponsor assets in premium seating marketing initiatives.
- Customer Segmentation: Analyze the market and customer data to identify high-potential segments for premium seating sales. Tailor marketing strategies to cater to the unique preferences and interests of these segments.
- Market Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor analysis, and best practices in premium seating marketing to continuously optimize strategies and tactics.
- Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, track ROI, and identify areas for improvement.
- Event Promotion: Coordinate with event operations and ticketing teams to ensure seamless execution of premium seating sales and promotions during events.
- Budget Management: Manage the marketing budget effectively, allocating resources to achieve maximum impact and ROI.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7 years of related work experience.
- A minimum education level of: BA/BS Degree (4-year) in Sales and/or Marketing.
- Experience working in Sports and Entertainment industry, with a focus on premium seating or hospitality sales.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and experience supervising, coaching, and mentoring a marketing team to achieve sales targets.
- In-depth understanding of brand identity, advertising, digital marketing channels and social media strategy and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to create and foster relationships.
- Strong analytical abilities with a data-driven and results-oriented approach.
- Understanding of the unique demands and dynamics of the sports industry.
- Creative & innovative thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset and capable of developing new sales concepts & fan experiences that extend beyond the arena and events.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Must have excellent written, verbal and listening, presentation, and communication skills.
- Must have experience in working with all levels within an organization from assistants to CEOs.
- Must have established contacts in the media editorial and sales side of the industry.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Photoshop and ability to learn required business systems.
- Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays as required by the schedule of events.
Pay Scale: $120,000- $135,000
