Medicaid Insurance Product Management – Growth & Innovation team’s purpose is to develop new benefits and wellness programs for members in our Medicaid and Duals health plans. Our goal is to advance personalized solutions that foster whole person care to engage and empower our members in their health journeys. This team supports Medicaid growth opportunities and works across the Company to set actionable product strategy and accelerate development of novel solutions through ideation, concept development to launch.

The Director, Medicaid Insurance Product Management – Growth & Innovation will be adept at navigating a highly regulated environment, rapidly evolving changing customer expectations, and a competitive marketplace to create a portfolio of novel benefits and wellness solutions. Ideal candidates will be experienced health care strategists with broad expertise in Medicaid Managed Care, a deep working knowledge of insurance products, enhanced benefits and wellness, and have a proven track record of bringing new products to market.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Policy, Research and Competitor Analysis
+ Translate guidance from federal and state government to define health plan covered services and related operational requirements.
+ Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to discern customer needs, assess the marketplace and surface business opportunities.
Product-Led Growth Strategy
+ Participates in capture planning and proposal development process for Medicaid growth opportunities by defining covered service packages, eligible cohorts and designing differentiated enhanced benefit and wellness solutions.
+ Provide a common environment and managed annual product lifecycle for Humana’s existing Medicaid health plans to ensure enhanced benefits and wellness offerings remain competitive, compliant and aligned with business objectives.
+ Convey end-to-end vision for Medicaid benefits and wellness to internal and external stakeholders. Accurately describe underlying models, programs, and services
Benefit and Wellness Product Innovation
+ Construct a prioritized product roadmap for new benefits and wellness solutions based on key criteria including customer value, business need and feasibility.
+ Form and coordinate cross-functional teams to design and develop solutions across initial phases of the product lifecycle that are ready for customer use.
Culture and Partnerships
+ Form and lead a high-performing team by recruiting top talent, fostering a positive teamwork environment and providing ongoing development opportunities
+ Sustain strong collaborative working relationships across Medicaid markets and enterprise stakeholders including Population Health, Quality, Member Experience, and Marketing.
+ Support development of culture and adoption of innovative, agile methodologies across the broader Medicaid segment

Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree with a strong record of academic achievement
+ 5+ years of in the field of health insurance, product design, or healthcare advisory services
+ 3+ years of management experience or management consulting
+ Deep working knowledge of Medicaid managed care policy, programs and covered services
+ Proven background in benefit and wellness product development for vulnerable underserved populations
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Experience in executive presentation and communication
+ Ability to operate in a faced paced environment under tight deadlines
+ Flexible scheduling (i.e. – occasional nights and weekends)
Preferred Qualifications
+ MBA programs with a specialization in Healthcare Management
+ Experience supporting Medicaid Business Development
+ Experience working with government and state agencies
+ Agile Product Development, Project Management and Process Improvement qualifications
Additional Information
Role will include travel (10% of time)
This position is open to working remote within the US but prefer the qualified candidate to reside in Louisville, KY or Tampa, Florida with the ability to work in a hybrid capacity.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$136,200 - $187,400 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
