Position Summary
This leadership position will be responsible for managing all MICU Staff, oversight of the daily MICU operations, associated policy and procedures, financial performance, statistical data collection, department educational programs, Performance Improvement and Program Development for the Mobile Intensive Care Unit.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Manage and oversee MICU staff
2. Manage and oversee daily operations
3. Develop departmental policies and procedures
4. Manage and oversee departmental financial performance and statistical collection
5. Manage and oversee mandatory MICU department education
6. Develop departmental performance improvement
7. Develop and grow the MICU program
Work Contact Group (Internal/External)
Patients and families, affiliated agencies, HMC staff, peers, and the community at large. This group consists of: Senior leadership, colleagues, physicians, nurses, paramedics, receptionists EMTs, patients, families, police, fire, dispatchers, mass casualty incident commanders and the general public.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
Associate’s Degree, Paramedic Emergency Health Science or related degree
Preferred:
Bachelor’s or Master’s
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
Required:
Minimum of 5 years as EMS System management
Preferred:
5 years of Advanced Life Support/Critical Care experience
License, Registry or Certification:
Required:
â— Certification as a State of New Jersey Paramedic
â— (Or New Jersey Licensed RN with current EMT card and minimum of at least 1 year Critical Care experience)
â— Advanced Specialized Certification(s):
⚬ Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
⚬ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) [or Pre-Hospital Pediatric Provider (PEPP)]
⚬ Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
â— Drivers License: Valid Drivers License
Preferred:
Technical Training in:
⚬ Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
⚬ Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS)
⚬ Instructor Status in: ACLS, PALS, CPR, PHTLS, PEPP, AMLS
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Required:
â— Excellent emergency care skills
â— Ability to work with others as a member of an emergency care team
â— Superior communication skills, and familiar with the routine aspects of the local emergency medical services system
