Responsibilities:
- Models a service attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better, is friendly and courteous to residents, patients, families and co-workers
- Ensure resident/patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards
- Maintain good attendance record
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, and evaluate departmental staff
- Responsible for day to day supervision and performance of assisted living staff, including direct supervision of clinical, administrative and life enrichment staff.
- Ensures all assisted living regulations are followed
- Reviews policies and procedures as needed and with changes in regulations
- Ensures service plans are implemented and revised as needed in a timely manner
- Supervise direct reports that monitor residents for changes in condition, ensure M.D., family, and other appropriate staff are notified and is reflected in the medical record
- Review and follow-up all consultant reports, in a timely manner
- Reviews monthly physician’s orders and ensures accuracy
- Make rounds to verify clinical compliance and quality of care and provide coaching and disciplinary action as indicated within the facilities policies and procedures
- Maintain and exceed budgeted census goals
- Manage department budget and meet/exceed financial goals
- Notify Executive Director of incident reports concerning abuse or neglect
- Review incident report documentation and ensure follow-up according to facility policy
- Thoroughly investigate any complaints and concerns and report to Executive Director
- Attend all assigned committee meetings according to Executive Director i.e. Level of Living.
- Responsible for the oversight of the provision of services that promotes health and well-being of the residents
- Routinely monitor residential meal service and assist as necessary
- Partner with Life Enrichment to ensure quality activity programs are developed/implemented on a monthly basis, based on resident needs/capabilities
- Monitor residents for behavioral issues that could benefit from specific interventions through social services referral
- Ensure assigned departments complies successfully within budgetary constraints
- Ensure Risk Management forms are kept up to date and all policies and procedures are followed in this process.
- Ensure HIPAA Policies and Procedures are being followed
- Participate in Assisted Living Resident Council meetings and work with Executive Director regarding Resident Council follow up action items
- Maintain and foster positive relationships with residents and their family members in all areas of jurisdiction
- Monitor Suggestion Box, keep supplied with forms, maintain log for all suggestions and report to Executive Director (PVN).
- Assess resident needs for ancillary services (dental, podiatry, optometry, psychological, etc.) and assist residents in attaining needed services
- Assist with interpreting and promoting Residents’ Rights and Resident Bill of Rights
- Ensure Grievance Log and Missing Items Logs are maintained for assigned units, and follow-up with residents for resolution, and report any concerns to Executive Director.
- Provides individual and group help for residents and families at times of adjustments, crisis or particular need
- Coordinate large special events for resident and teammates, including Departmental Appreciation(s), etc. Act as a liaison with Executive Chef with events involving any type of food services
- Provide back-up to Admissions and Marketing for facility tours and inquiries
- Provide information on Hospice as appropriate and assist resident/family with initiation of services for primary areas assigned
- Review incident report documentation for assisted living residents and ensure follow-up according to Sfacility policy
- Accompany residents when transferred to hospital emergency in events when family cannot be present.
- Other duties as assigned by Executive Director

Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelors’ degree in healthcare or related field required
- Nursing Facility Administrator or Licensed Healthcare Professional i.e. LMSW, MSN/BSN, RN etc. required
- Assisted Living Certification required
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in assisted living or skilled nursing
- Minimum 2 years' experience demonstrated supervisory and managerial skills
- Compassion and understanding of the progressive nature of Alzheimer's dementia
- Leadership ability and excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of assisted living regulations
- Ability to organize work flow , respond to emergencies and note detail
- Ability to maintain a positive, stable disposition in performing work in association with staff, residents and families
- Ability to maintain a high level of performance in an environment of frequent demands and changes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
