We are assisting a top finance firm in hiring a full-time Director of Cloud Engineering for their Chicago office
This company maintains market stability by providing clearing and settlement services for options, futures, and securities lending
Regulated by the SEC, CFTC, and Federal Reserve, it supports over 100 clearing members and 19 exchanges.
In this role, you will focus on cultivating and retaining top engineering talent and managers, while developing and inspiring diverse teams to grow and enhance the organization
You will lead efforts to optimize the cloud platform by collaborating with engineers and leaders to build a robust, scalable, and secure technology stack using industry best practices
You will need to be hands on with the tech to be successful in this role

Required Skills & Experience
- Must have financial services experience
- Proficiency in operating systems, particularly Linux, for financial applications
- Deep knowledge of AWS services, emphasizing platform and core services for fintech solutions
- Robust understanding of security, compliance, and control measures critical in financial cloud environments
- Hands-on experience with Kafka for real-time financial data streaming and Kubernetes for scalable fintech applications
- Expertise in cloud networking concepts vital for secure financial operations, including firewalls, VPCs, and secure gateways
- Competence in container technologies and orchestration, including Kubernetes, for deploying and managing financial microservices
- Familiarity with best practices in software delivery and continuous integration for rapid deployment of financial products
- Experience applying Agile/Lean methodologies in financial technology projects
- Strong proficiency in automation principles and pipelines for streamlining financial processes
- AWS Solution Architect Associate certification (Required)
- 10+ years of experience in AWS
- 5+ years of experience in a managerial role
- Must have a bachelors degree
