Procom is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Cloud and Infrastructure on behalf of a large hospital/healthcare provider in Chicago, IL
This is a full-time, direct-hire position in Chicago, ILJob Summary:The Director of Cloud and Infrastructure is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's technology infrastructure to ensure smooth, efficient, and secure operations
This role requires close collaboration with the leadership team to develop and implement technology strategies that align with the organization’s goals and objectives
The Director will be accountable for ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of IT systems, managing a team of IT professionals, and providing high-quality technical support to all users.Key Responsibilities:Define, document, and enforce network and security policy standards.Collaborate with vendors on system design upgrades, investigate new technologies, and participate in Information Security and Disaster Recovery testing.Address escalated Help Desk ticket requests requiring advanced technical support.Monitor performance, troubleshoot network problems, and schedule upgrades to maintain a stable networking environment.Develop and maintain a knowledge base by documenting issues, causes, and solutions.Work with IT departments to securely plan, deploy, design, troubleshoot, and implement new functions.Provide system and security architectural and engineering support across local, regional, and global areas.Evaluate new technologies to support growth, maintain, improve, and document as the environment evolves.Manage communication and coordination of resources during outage situations, guiding engineers from different groups to restore business functionality as quickly as possible.Provide leadership to managers, architects, and engineers at all levels.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, or related field.Extensive experience with server infrastructure, database management, UNIX/Linux/Windows operating systems, VMware, Citrix, Networking, LAN/WAN, Firewall, Active Directory, Exchange, Security, Client Computing, Backup Systems, Data Center Operations, Storage, ITIL Systems, and telecommunications/voice systems.Proven success in developing and supporting applications in a 24x7 healthcare environment.Experience in managing and implementing large, complex, enterprise-class solutions.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for leading teams directly or indirectly.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to be proactive and innovative in problem-solving.Experience with ITSM functionalities such as change control, CMDB, and ticket systems.In-depth understanding of disaster recovery, including design, implementation, and testing.Ability and availability to work occasional nights/weekends as necessary.Ability to work independently and within a team to ensure performance, reliability, and security in a dynamic 24x7 production network environment.Some travel within the Chicago area may be required.Customer-focused attitude with excellent written and verbal communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:Diversified background in technical infrastructure with strong project management acumen and excellent vendor management skills.Ten (10) years of Infrastructure Engineering experience.Seven (7) years of experience leading technical teams.Seven (7) years of experience with infrastructure technology support and implementation.Experience managing infrastructure implementation and support in owned and colo environments.ITIL foundations certification.Cloud experience is a plus.Competencies:Strategic orientation with strong business and financial acumen.Leadership and development of highly empowered, self-directed teams, including cross-functional teams.Critical thinking, communication, and effective team membership.Application of lean management tools and agile methodologies.Mentoring and teaching abilities.Other Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:Knowledge of public and private hybrid data cloud solutions.Ability to effectively discuss technical issues with both technical professionals and non-technical users.Strong analytical and process skills to track and improve organizational efficiency and performance.Understanding of the software development lifecycle and development methodologies.Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication abilities.Ability to manage multiple tasks with ease and efficiency.Ability to effectively manage change and provide leadership in a dynamic environment.Location: Chicago, IL
