Job Summary and Qualifications
Seeking a Director of Contracting at Methodist Healthcare System who coordinates with executive leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements regarding all aspects of the contract process, policies and procedures relating to Non-Physician and general local contracts within the system and its facilities. Collaborates and maintains relationships between the system contracting department, facility and system administration, service line executive leadership, legal counsel and other relevant parties as needed. Coordinates and completes the contracting process from pre-approval of concepts through final execution of agreements. Leads the organization and execution of contracting application platforms to ensure accurate outcomes and reporting. What you will do in this role:
- Communicate and coordinate with CEO’s and COO’s of hospitals to ensure adequate process is in place to meet legal and statutory requirements for the contracting process for the entire Methodist Healthcare System. Work primarily on Non-Physician owned companies and local contracts within the system and its facilities, ensuring compliance with legal department requirements. Responsible for knowledge of physician contracting and to assist General Counsel on physician contracting as directed.
- Subject matter expert and owner of contracting applications utilized, including but not limited to, Total Contract Manager, Project Action Workflow System, MediTract, Vendor Evaluation Forms, tiMED, and Verity and such other contract management tools as needed.
- Coordinates and complete the contracting process from pre-approval of concepts, through drafting new and renewals, and final execution of agreements, to include verifying appropriate documents, approvals and authorized signatures are tracked and timely acquired, as well as dissemination of executed contracts to pertinent parties, internal departments and recording into contract management databases.
- Advisor to system and facility leadership, or their designees, for support and interpretation of contract language, contracting processes and applications and interfaces as necessary with executive leadership regarding same.
- Project Administrator of annual systemwide MediTract clinical contract vendor evaluation forms as required by The Joint Commission, including presentation of results to Clinical Excellence Outcomes Committee.
- Operates as the conduit between service line leaders, or designees, and Office of General Counsel, acting as first reviewer and consultant of document requests and language.
- Responsible to ensure facility Contract Coordinators have an understanding of contracting processes and procedures and lead follow-up refresher courses and trainings as necessary.
- Advise, execute and record Business Associate Agreements, Data Use Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements and Certificates of Insurance.
- Support and participate in the continuous assessment and improvement of the quality and efficiency of services provided by the Office of General Counsel.
- Organizes reporting and compilation of agreements as needed for internal and external audits by Division of Reimbursement and The Joint Commission.
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelor’s Degree required in business related field
- Minimum 5+ years Management experience.
- Minimum 5+ years Contracting experience within the healthcare industry, to include a working knowledge of contracting systems, basic contract law and a comprehensive knowledge of the healthcare business, audit of process and Fair Market Value requirements.
Knowledge/Skills Required:
- General knowledge of healthcare industry
- General knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, compliance and relevant state and federal laws
- High degree of initiative, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal skills, proficient in utilizing various databases, Microsoft Office, and other software applications
- Strong ability to prioritize and organize competing requests from multiple facilities and service lines
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
