Job Summary:
The Director of Data Analytics will be responsible for leading development and management of our enterprise-wide data platform. This individual will play a pivotal role in building and overseeing a high-performing team of Data Architects, Data Engineers, and Data Analysts. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in data strategy, governance, and analytics, with the ability to drive the adoption of data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Job Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a team of Data Architects, Engineers, and Analysts, ensuring the team delivers high-quality work and meets key milestones.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with leadership to define the data platform roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term goals.
- Enterprise Data Platform Development: Lead the design, development, and implementation of a scalable and robust Enterprise Data Platform, aligning with the company’s overall business strategy and goals.
- Data Strategy & Governance: Establish data governance practices, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and security across all platforms and teams.
- Data Architecture Oversight: Guide the architecture of databases, data pipelines, and data models to enable data accessibility and scalability.
- Analytics & Business Intelligence: Drive advanced analytics initiatives that support operational excellence, decision-making, and innovation in the energy sector.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Finance, and IT) to ensure data initiatives align with business needs and are effectively executed.
- Required Job Skills & Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience
- 10+ years in data analytics, data engineering, or business intelligence roles.
- 5+ years in leadership positions, managing cross-functional teams.
- Proven experience in developing and scaling enterprise data platforms.
- Experience in the energy sector is a plus.
- Technical Skills
- Expertise in modern data stack technologies (e.g., cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Strong understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
- Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, R, and/or similar data manipulation languages.
- Familiarity with DataLakes and Big Data ecosystems.
- Leadership and Communication
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and grow a diverse technical team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Demonstrated ability to identify issues, analyze data, and provide innovative, scalable solutions.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management
- Experience managing relationships with third-party vendors and stakeholders.
- Preferred Job Skills & Qualifications:
Retail Energy Experience:
- Experience in the retail energy sector, with knowledge of industry-specific challenges, regulations, and business models.
- Data Analytics & Reporting:
- Knowledge of data analytics, business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and reporting processes to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
- CRM/ERP Integration:
- Experience in complex integrations between Salesforce, NetSuite, and other ERP or CRM systems used in energy businesses.
- Cybersecurity Knowledge:
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices related to data platforms in regulated industries like energy.
- Business Process Optimization:
- Expertise in identifying opportunities to streamline business processes through the development and implementation of technology solutions.
