Vaco is conducting a confidential search for a highly skilled Director of Systems Integration and Development on behalf of a prominent organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing the integration of enterprise data systems, leading strategic initiatives, and working closely with business stakeholders to enhance the overall application environment. Join a small company reporting directly to the CIO as the sole developer of a small-tight knit organization. Detailed client information will be disclosed to shortlisted candidates only.
Location: Greater Costa Mesa-Area (onsite 4 days a week), exact job location will be disclosed to shortlisted candidates. Local candidates will be considered within commutable distance of Costa Mesa and its nearby surroundings, unable to provide relocation or consider remote inquiries.
Role Overview:
The Director of Systems Integration and Development will lead the design and management of the company's data interfaces and oversee the engineering of data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. This role involves strategic planning and execution to improve data warehousing, integration, and system modeling.
Key Responsibilities:
- ETL Supervision: Lead the development and management of ETL processes, including the creation of integration scripts and automation workflows.
- Data Reporting: Conduct analysis and generate reports on extensive datasets, encompassing financial and industry-specific information.
- Software Enhancement: Manage and improve the organization's asset management software, contributing to software development projects that enhance the company's technology stack.
- Budget Oversight: Oversee the IT budget related to development activities, ensuring efficient resource allocation and investment in technology.
- Project Leadership: Direct multiple IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and develop new systems or enhance existing ones.
- Strategic Planning: Make informed decisions regarding business applications, data warehousing, integration, and data modeling.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: 8-15 years of experience in technology and software development.
- Database Proficiency: Strong skills in databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL, with experience in cloud environments ideally Azure preferred. Experience with Snowflake is a huge plus as well.
- Scripting Expertise: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or R.
- Platform Knowledge: Familiarity with the Salesforce platform is an advantage.
- Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills to guide the implementation of technology strategies.
- Data Architecture: Expertise in modern data architectures, including data structures, analytical tools, optimization techniques, and data warehouse design.
- Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying updated with emerging cloud technologies, languages, standards, and practices.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the relevant industry is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and a strong aptitude for problem-solving and data analytics.
$150K-170K, compensation will depend on relevant experience, overall fit for the position, etc. The very top end of the range will be reserved for those who meet ALL of the important job qualifications)

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
