Director of Development - ConsultNet

The primary function of this leadership role within our growing organization is to elevate our client's vision and mission to diverse audiences and inspire engagement as donors, sponsors, funders, volunteers, and community partners. This role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing strategic fundraising and communication campaigns, community engagement, and special events to reach revenue goals. The ideal candidate will network and build relationships within the criminal justice reform movement and seek opportunities for community partnership.

Essential Job Functions

Nonprofit Development Management

• Manage and develop teams effectively with program, finance, and operation departments.
• Report regularly to senior leadership and the Board on the progress of the development program.
• Support fundraising outreach and oversee stewardship of Women's Philanthropy Group & Young Professionals Council.

Corporate Partnership

• Leverage and expand corporate engagement through volunteer engagements, sponsorships, and in-kind support.
• Conduct research, cultivate relationships, and develop outreach materials for potential corporate partners.
• Manage corporate relations and create volunteer engagements and solicit sponsorships for special events and community activities.

Individual Giving

• Oversee the individual giving program, including major gifts, special appeals, monthly giving, and events.
• Build a major donor prospect pipeline and giving program, including a stewardship plan and touch point events.
• Conduct research, set up meetings with prospects and donors, and create fundraising and public education materials.

Special Events

• Lead the production and execution of the annual spring event, including program content, special guests, and corporate sponsors.
• Oversee peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives and build an audience through social media platforms.

Foundation Grants

• Build a pipeline of private and family foundations and corporate foundations through research and cultivation strategies.
• Establish meetings with foundation leads, engage in program thought leadership activities, and write LOIs.
• Ensure timely submissions of grant proposals and reports.
• Work with finance and program teams to provide necessary documents for submission and reporting.

Required Knowledge, Skill, and Experience

• 7 years of experience in development, fundraising, communications, and nonprofit management.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree.
• Deep appreciation for our work, mission, and population.
• Experience in Board, committee, and volunteer management.
• Visionary leadership and project management skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to strategize and implement fundraising and communication campaigns.
• Experience in fundraising and soliciting major gifts.
• Excellent project management, writing, and research skills.
• Experience in producing and managing special events.
• Expertise in engaging the media and public speaking.
• Proficiency in engaging donors through digital platforms.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience with confidential information and high reliability and integrity.
• Experience in overseeing databases and software for development and communication operations.
