In this dynamic Director of Development role, you will be responsible for fundraising initiatives including spearheading several annual events, grant research and writing, foundation work as well as capital gift works. The successful person in this role will also manage and work with volunteers and committees that support the special events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, coordinate and manage annual events including galas, gold tournaments, shooting events, black tie banquets; motorcycle rides, and other events that supports the Sproutlings Pediatric Daycare and other Charitable Care programs and initiatives.
Recruit, manage and coordinate volunteers
Grant work including research and writing
Successfully lead various special event committees
· Oversee the operation of key endowment/capital elements, foundation and grant work
· Participate in the creation, development, and implementation of the Mission Advancement Department’s fundraising activities.
· Promote the total giving program of Masonic Homes through appropriate advertising and promotion vehicles, personal visits, direct mail, and all other opportunities.
· Help to carry out the mission, goals and objectives established by corporate management and board of directors.
· Ensure payment of special event debts
· Help establish an annual departmental budget for the fiscal year.
· Actively participate in achieving the department’s revenue and expense goals
REQUIREMENTS
· The successful candidate will have 5-10 years of development, fundraising and/or related experience preferred
· Ability to successfully create, develop and manage donor and potential donor relationships
· Great presentation skills and the ability to effectively connect with local chamber of commerce, rotary club and other networking organizations
· Be familiar with and keep up to date on all appropriate tax laws relating to charitable giving.
· Be familiar with various types of giving agreements and their benefits
· Be familiar with and carry out the gift acceptance policies as approved by the board.
· College graduate or equivalent years of work experience
· Certified Fundraising Professional preferred
K Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite preferred
Knowledge of Raiser's Edge and One Cause preferred
