SALARY: $90,000 - $120,000
Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Development to lead our fundraising efforts, driving the growth of the organization's financial resources. The Director will identify and cultivate major gift prospects and corporate and foundation donors while planning and executing events that engage donors and raise funds. This position requires close collaboration with the business development, marketing, and leadership teams to achieve the organization's financial goals.
The role is hybrid, with quarterly visits to headquarters and frequent travel to conferences and meetings.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Donor Cultivation: Develop and nurture relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors, creating engagement plans that effectively attract long-term support.
- Pipeline Management: Expand and manage a pipeline of current and prospective funders, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with leadership to develop and execute fundraising strategies that align with the organization's mission and values.
- Grant Oversight: Oversee the preparation and submission of grant proposals, ensuring compliance with all requirements and deadlines.
- Donor Records Management: Maintain accurate and comprehensive donor records, track donations, and generate reports to measure progress toward fundraising goals.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor and analyze fundraising data, track donor engagement, and make data-driven decisions to optimize fundraising strategies.
- Communications Coordination: Work closely with the Communications and Marketing team to develop and execute donor communications and marketing materials that resonate with potential donors.
- Compliance and Ethics: Ensure all fundraising activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Advocacy Partnership: Collaborate with the business development team to implement a robust advocacy engagement strategy.
Desired Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required in business administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in nonprofit fundraising and business development, managing and forging relationships with multiple donor sources.
- Proven track record of meeting fundraising goals and securing major gifts.
- Strong understanding of fundraising principles, with experience in donor cultivation and pipeline management and development best practices.
- Tangible experience expanding and cultivating existing donor relationships over time.
- Ability to construct, articulate, and implement annual strategic development plan.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral; ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and build long-term relationships.
- Flexible and adaptable style; a leader who can positively impact both strategic and tactical fundraising initiatives.
- Knowledge of healthcare industry trends and access to care challenges is preferred.
- Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority
- Requires extensive travel up to 70%.
