Mount Alverna Village, part of Franciscan Ministries, is a vibrant senior living community located in Parma, Ohio. We are a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), offering a variety of senior lifestyle options including independent living, memory support assisted living, and skilled nursing/ long-term care. Additionally, the onsite rehabilitation clinic offers inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapies, and state-of-the-art programs designed to enhance the quality of life for residents and patients in the local community. We are currently looking for a Director of Dining Services to join our team!
Position Summary:
The Director of Dining Services oversees and coordinates all activities and functions of the Dining Services Department. This position is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and participating in the effective preparation and service of high qualify meals while enforcing proper sanitation and safety procedures in accordance with State and Local regulations. This position will also ensure that residents receive quality meal services and food in accordance with the mission and philosophy of the Ministry.

As a Dining Services Director you will be responsible for:
- Responsible for adequate staffing for all shifts
- Prepares monthly inventory and statements; figures total monthly costs and weekly invoice transmittals; forwards to finance department
- Responsible for daily ordering of food and supplies
- Manages the dining services personnel in a proactive human resource function, observing and evaluating performance, conducting staff meetings, ensuring employee motivation, training and development, effective two-way communication, job understanding and satisfaction, etc. in compliance with established labor regulations.
- Monitors and evaluates employee production and quality of performance
- Hires and trains food service personnel
- Develops and implements the policies and procedures for the dining services department, ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations
- Receives requests for special luncheons and functions ensuring that they are prepared and serviced properly and on time; keeps track of the cost analysis of said functions.
- Monitors the performance of the department through verification and analysis of resident satisfaction systems and financial reports. Initiates corrective action.
- Advises Dietary Personnel regarding food substitutions and menu changes
- Assists in the formation of menus and control of foods costs and waste
- Recommends or institutes changes in techniques or procedures for more efficient operation
- Other duties as assigned
We are currently looking for a Dining Services Director to join our team! To qualify you need a:
- Must have experience working as a Cook
- Must have CDM or have a degree from an accredited university in food service
- Must have ServSafe Manager Certificate
- Must have Certification in Food Protection
- Experience in a long-term care facility preferred
- Must have 3 to 5 years supervisory experience
- Experience with DiningRD is a plus
