Role Overview As the Director of Electrical Engineering, you will play a pivotal role within the senior leadership team, contributing to the strategic direction of the Electrical Engineering discipline. You will drive the firm’s business initiatives, offer thought leadership in design, and help expand the company’s influence in the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Leadership: Spearhead design concepts, set creative standards, and ensure high-quality, innovative solutions across all projects. Provide guidance to multiple design teams through all project phases.
  
• Strategic Vision: Align design direction with the firm’s strategic business goals, working closely with office management and practice leaders to ensure profitability and adherence to core values.
  
• Project Oversight: Oversee the design process, from concept to execution, ensuring consistency and quality. Provide direction for design presentations and project evolution.
  
• Operations Management: Collaborate with practice leadership to establish budgets, resource allocation, and investment strategies. Support the firm’s mission by implementing policies and strategies that enhance project delivery and firm growth.
  
• Cultural Influence: Foster an inclusive and collaborative work culture. Mentor staff, lead recruitment and retention efforts, and participate in employee performance evaluations.
  
• Community Engagement: Actively participate in professional and community organizations, enhancing the firm’s market reputation and thought leadership.
  

Additional Responsibilities

• Monitor and guide the design process firm-wide, ensuring alignment with client expectations and compliance with building codes and costs.
  
• Contribute to marketing efforts by shaping design narratives and setting project design directions in collaboration with design teams.
  

Skills and Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) with 15+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering Design.
  
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and familiar with electrical, spatial, and building code concepts.
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  
• Strong understanding of client expectations and experience as a lead designer on various projects, from programming to contract administration.
  
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices and experience in multiple engineering markets.
  
• Effective in graphic, verbal, and written communication, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  
• Collaborative work ethic, with proficiency in modern design software including AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
