About the Job
Responsible for the management and direction of the Employee Benefits and Third Party
Administration (TPA) departments. Promotes an environment of strong and
progressive sales and customer service standards to meet growth, customer
satisfaction, and retention goals.
Salary Range: $110000.00 - $200000.00 per year

Responsibilities
Confer with organization executives or staff members to discuss issues, coordinate activities, or resolve problems.
Sales Management including hiring, training, and mentoring new Employee Benefits producers.
Analyze operations to evaluate performance of a department or its staff in meeting objectives or to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change.
Direct, plan, or implement policies, objectives, or activities of organizations or businesses to ensure continuing operations, to maximize returns on investments, and/or to increase productivity.
Prepare budgets for approval, including those for funding or implementation of programs.
Direct or coordinate activities of departments concerned with production, pricing, and retention.
Negotiate and/or approve contracts or agreements with suppliers, distributors, or other vendors.
Appoint department heads or managers and assign or delegate responsibilities to them.
Prepare or present reports concerning activities, expenses, budgets, or other items affecting departments or program services.
Establish departmental responsibilities and coordinate functions among departments and sites.
Implement corrective action plans to solve departmental problems.
Coordinate the development or implementation of recordkeeping systems, or other administrative control processes.
Maintain strong, professional working relationships with insurance carriers, MGAs and other vendors.
Requirements
7+ years of employee benefits insurance and supervising the operation of a departmental unit
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, other appropriate field or equivalent experience
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Outlook
Superior customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Experience with working with or volunteering for nonprofits is a plus.
Licensing
Possession of a current CA Life & Health license is required
Possession of a valid CA Drivers License, vehicle, satisfactory driving record and appropriate insurance
