Your Impact
Axon Productivity is a new and growing business unit within Axon that is building end-user software for the law enforcement. We created Axon Records, a.k.a. "RMS" – a suite of products that lets patrol officers, police detectives, crime analysts, and other law enforcement professionals do their jobs effectively and efficiently. An RMS is the "brain" of each police department where it stores, searches and processes information. We also built Axon Standards – a similar suite of products intended to "police the police" – investigate and document the conduct of police officers themselves. We are investing in AI capabilities of our tools and integration with the rest of Axon's software ecosystem.
Knowledge Systems in Axon Productivity manages all key aspects of law enforcement data critical to Axon Records and Standards. This includes maintaining and scaling a comprehensive Knowledge Graph encompassing essential details such as people, vehicles, locations, etc. The team supports advanced search capabilities, data trend visualization through analytics, historical pattern analysis using data warehouse, and near real-time data exchange between Axon and external systems. Additionally, it provides agencies with tools to customize and configure their products.
As a Director of Software Engineering in Knowledge Systems, you'll be at the forefront of driving public safety innovation. You would own the Data Insights area, whose mission is to make actionable intelligence easily available, which is critical to our Axon Records & Standards products. In this role, you would lead our flagship Search, Analytics, and DataStore product areas. As a technical and people leader, you'll set the architectural vision for the Data Insights area while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within your teams. You will define and drive the technical strategy for your teams, guiding them on architectural decisions for vNext using cutting-edge technology like AI-driven analytics/data discovery and setting a high bar for standards of excellence. You will join forces with product management and product design to understand the customer outcomes that need to be achieved and drive the schedule to achieve success.
The teams supporting this area are full stack and have data-intensive tech stacks, so we are looking for someone with expertise in data-related technologies, search, and passion for both backend and frontend development. In this role, you will report to the senior engineering leader for the Knowledge Systems and advise them in addition to leading strategic, operational and engineering excellence initiatives across the organization.
Come work in an exciting environment where you can use your passion, experience, and leadership skills to bring new solutions to public safety and positively impact the world.
