Responsibilities
+ Demonstrated ability to successfully oversee an annual budget of ~$300M.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead a 150+ diverse engineering workforce.
+ Manage engineering function with engineers matrixed into operations across multiple sites.
+ Serves as Design Authority.
+ Develop designs that are recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices in compliance with regulatory and permitting requirements, maintaining configuration control of all design documentation, including as-built drawings.
+ Provide engineering services to maintain and optimize operations, including mechanical engineering, developing, and implementing system health monitoring and improvement plans, performing value engineering reviews and overseeing production of design products.
+ Provide design and engineering services supporting site upgrades, modifications, and installations.
+ Perform value engineering to reduce DOE’s real property asset ownership costs and perform cost benefit studies to evaluate alternate packaging and loading to reduce cost of waste disposition.
+ Process engineering change proposals.
+ Perform hazardous analysis and engineering services for balance of plant activities, including facilities maintenance and capital and general-purpose projects.
+ Lead fire protection and security engineering.
Qualifications
+ ≥20 years in engineering in DOE or similar oil and gas facility.
+ ≥10 years design and maintenance engineering for hazardous chemical operations.
+ Prior management of ~150 people and budgets $$75M million/year.
+ Previous leadership of a project/program engineering organization with matrixed staff across multiple facilities and locations.
+ Demonstrated ability to improve site productivity through engineering innovations.
+ Notable examples of successful delivery of site upgrades, modifications and installations resulting in improved production.
+ Track record for improving project performance through value engineering.
+ MS, Engineering (chemical, mechanical, electrical) preferred.
+ BS, Engineering (chemical, mechanical, electrical) required.
+ Training, Licenses, and Recognized Certifications.
+ Preferred = Registered Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), Root Cause Analysis (or other methodology).
+ U.S citizen.
+ DOE Q clearance (or ability to obtain).
