ABOUT OUR ROLE
We are seeking a Director of Engineering to join our team. We're looking for a seasoned engineering leader ready to dive back into hands-on coding within a collaborative and agile team. This role involves working on a thriving, fast-growing, and continually evolving product.
Main focuses and responsibilities;
Oversee front-end and back-end development teams and their projects.
Monitor the reliability and performance of all internal systems.
Ensure compliance with security regulations.
Manage software development projects, setting requirements, goals, and timelines.
Design strategies for future development projects based on company objectives and resources.
Hire engineers and coordinate their training.
Implement innovative technologies.
Coordinate with external stakeholders for new integrations and tools.
Review and update policies relevant to internal systems and equipment.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Diverse Technical Background: Ability to quickly get up to speed in various areas of technology, including security, cloud, architecture, DevOps, QA, hiring, and agile methods.
Leadership Experience: Proven track record of leading small to medium-sized engineering teams.
Player-Coach Role: Comfortable with both coding and management as the team grows.
Cloud Technologies and Modern Web Stack: Extensive experience, particularly with Azure and C#.
Full-Stack Development: Hands-on experience with both back-end and front-end development.
Agile Methodologies: Strong understanding and practical application.
Machine Learning: Good understanding of integrating machine learning technologies into products.
Strategic Leadership: Strong project management skills and a strategic mindset.
Additional Information
Reporting: Directly to the CTO.
Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO, CTO, and Head of Product.
Growth Path: Start in a player-coach role with an expectation to grow the team from 3 to 7 engineers within a year, shifting focus more towards management, planning, and architecture.
