As a dynamic and growing company that has recently completed a strategic acquisition, we are positioned for significant growth and are searching for a Director of Finance to lead and manage the finance integration, strengthen our FP&A processes, and drive strategic initiatives across our newly expanded organization.
What You’ll Do: As the Director of Finance, you will help build and scale our core finance functions, which include budgeting, reporting, scenario modeling, ad hoc ROI analyses, and investor relations. You will partner with leaders across the company to provide insights through data analytics, create and manage KPI dashboards, and assess key strategic investments and corporate development initiatives. You will be expected to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and think out of the box to help Submittable grow.
Your Day-to-day & Key Responsibilities:
• Lead Submittable’s FP&A function including budgeting, management reporting, variance analysis, and scenario planning on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Generate dashboards and reports that track KPI’s and unit economics related to Submittable’s growth and performance. Communicate trends and findings to senior management to highlight opportunities and risks.
• Design and create complex financial models and analytical ad-hoc projects related to strategic areas such as product pricing, customer lifetime value, and margin analysis.
• Determine the appropriate processes, methodologies, variables, and modeling techniques to develop and deliver accurate forecasts.
• Partner with functional leaders on short-term and long-range capacity planning and strategic decision making.
• Continuously identify opportunities to automate and streamline processes to reduce cycle time and increase productivity across the organization.
What You Need to be Successful:
• 8+ years of work experience in corporate finance and/or financial planning roles
• Experience in investment banking or corporate development a plus
• Experience building complex financial models with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Netsuite and Tableau experience a plus.
• Deep understanding of financial statements, SaaS metrics, and core accounting concepts.
• Independent and entrepreneurial attitude showing the ability to work with minimal direction in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
• Proven track record of contributing actionable insights from data analysis
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate findings; comfortable presenting to internal and external audiences
• Analytical and curious mindset with a hunger to learn and grow
