Roles & Responsibilities:
- Overall financial health of the hotel.
- Analyze the financial activities of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed.
- Provide accurate and timely financial statements and compliance.
- Record all revenues and expenses in the proper period including accruals for anticipated charges.
- Prepare or review all monthly balance sheet reports which accurately reflect assets, liabilities and equity.
- Timely and accurate recording, filing and payment of all hotel tax obligations.
- Implement and monitor effective policies and procedural controls throughout hotel in compliance with standards and guidelines.
- Oversee contracts and agreements and assist hotel management in maintaining licenses, permits, insurance, and contracts.
- Provide financial leadership and mentoring to key hotel personnel.
- Provide timely and well composed forecasts and budgets with the full involvement of hotel leadership.
- Communicate on a timely basis to the General Manager of all potential favorable or unfavorable budget or profit exposures or opportunities.
- Manages both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to include but not limited to: processing invoices, preparing statements, making payments, collections, reconciliation, and record keeping.
- Reconciles and audits petty cash, general bank account and cash banks.
- Manages department members such as property Accountant.
- Analyze trends to reduce financial risks associated with spending decisions
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management or a related education.
- Previous experience in a similar role in a full-service hospitality operation.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, M3 accounting software, ProfitSword, Property Management Systems, Point of Sale Systems, Payroll systems, and other finance-related platforms.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including complaint handling and resolution.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently sits, uses hands, reaches with arms and hands, talks or hears. Occasionally stands, walks, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds.
