Job Summary
The Director of Strategic Marketing is part of the Fluid Components Division of Nordson Medical, based in Loveland, CO. In this role, you will successfully lead marketing including strategy and growth initiatives for the division globally. This includes key business processes such as developing the strategic plan, with strategic discipline of the NBS Next growth framework as the foundation, to identify and prioritize new business initiatives.
The Director of Strategic Marketing will ensure the business develops and executes an effective business strategy with the focus on growth, which includes market analysis, branding and communication, product management, and market and competitor analysis. Responsibilities include the Product Innovation road map and identifying new applications and markets in strategic growth segments. Critical to the role, this leader is responsible for developing and empowering the marketing team, retaining and developing diverse talent and maintaining an innovative, inclusive and collaborative culture. The Director of Strategic Marketing will also provide management oversight for setting global marketing business priorities, establishing stretch goals, overseeing development and execution of action plans to achieve, deploying resources optimally to drive results and lead new efforts focused on creating and optimizing go-to-market strategies and plans.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the development of the strategic planning process, including the analysis and prioritization of potential initiatives for growth, including marketing strategy, development of presentations, and presentations to leadership, executives and employees
- Drive key business processes such as VOC and key market insights and analysis, and support deployment of the strategy; track implementation plans to ensure the right level of focus and execution
- Partner with Fluid Components Leadership team and their teams to assess new business opportunities and develop implementation plans including the product road map
- Define and track key strategic performance metrics and develop root cause counter measures for misses
- Statistical and financial analysis, including customer and competitor analysis, including segmentation, targeting and positioning. market research and market value chain analysis and break-even analysis and decision making
- Optimize pricing, including pricing strategy and tactics, strong understanding of relevant costs of pricing and product positioning and its relation to customer segmentation and valuation
- Support the M&A process, including analysis of possible candidates in alignment with strategic goals and ensuring new products are integrated into the division
- Develop a team of professionals with strong business and strategy acumen with bench strength, attracting, engaging, developing, and retaining talent
- Establish credibility, rapport, respect and trust throughout the organization, be viewed as a team player, and work effectively in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
- Manage timelines budget, and organizational reporting and analysis effectively
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelors degree in marketing, business or related field required. MBA or other graduate degree preferred
- 10 plus years Director-level leadership experience in strategic marketing, strategic planning and analysis, including relevant professional experience in having led products through full life cycle
- 8 plus years experience in Medical Device manufacturing or similar
- Build and lead a high performing team of Product Specialist
- Worked in a global organization

Base Salary Range for this position is: $192,000 to $220,000, and bonus target is 20% ; shift premium may be available depending on shift associated with the specific job opportunity. Benefits including Medical, Rx, Vision, Dental, and Health Savings Account (HSA), Retirement and Security benefits including 401k and Life Insurance. In addition to Paid Time Off and paid Holidays, each employee receives 16 hours paid time each calendar year to perform volunteer services for Nordson-sponsored events. The base salary pay range for this job level is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
