Valeo is actively seeking a Director of Human Resources. This individual will support Valeo's mission and strategic goals by promoting an environment characterized by fair treatment, open communication, personal accountability, and mutual respect. This position reports to the President and is responsible for program implementation across all areas of Human Resources.
This position will be based in our Carmel, IN headquarters and will require consistent in-person attendance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Human Resource Operations:
- Developing and maintaining HR policies and procedures, employee handbook, etc. Monitors administration of procedures and keeps management informed of operational needs.
- Oversee the performance management processes for all departments and evaluate potential corrective action in partnership with departmental leaders.
- Execution and monitoring of all confidential investigations related to employee conduct and/or corrective action.
- Provide guidance and counsel for strategic planning and/or initiatives involving employee relations and/or human resources.
- Design and administer the compensation plan for all staff employees including defined salary ranges and the criteria for bonuses or merit increases.
- Administers company compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Office of Federal Contracting Compliance (OFCCP) the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, OSHA, and so forth.
- Maintains and processes unemployment claims. Participates in unemployment hearings when necessary.
- Maintains thorough and complete personnel and compliance records. Adheres to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality on matters that require discretion.
- Partner with key stakeholders to drive retention of employees and ensure there is minimal turnover of high-performing employees.
- Oversee the facility needs of all Valeo locations.
- Supervise HR departmental staff and provide coaching as needed to support their development.
- Employee Benefits
- Design and manage our benefits strategy including plan design, eligibility and contribution criteria, and vendor selection.
- Manage the necessary vendor relationships to ensure competitive pricing and appropriate tools/software to execute our benefits strategy.
- Conduct regular market analysis to measure the effectiveness of our benefit strategy and potential impact on recruiting and/or employee retention.
- Coordinate all regulatory reporting and monitoring such as ACA compliance, Form 5500, and NDT testing.
- Talent Management
- Partner with key stakeholders to evaluate staffing needs based on capacity, growth, and departmental objectives.
- Develop and maintain accurate job descriptions of all positions within Valeo.
- Coordinate succession planning efforts for all key employees.
- Maintain accurate candidate records and ensure privacy of sensitive information (e.g. background checks, SSN, etc.)
- Facilitate the training and monitoring of all approved interviewers to ensure compliance with all local and federal guidelines related to hiring and recruiting.
- Supervise the onboarding and offboarding of employees to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with all internal policies and federal/state regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of HR management or equivalent experience required. Prior experience in the finance industry preferred.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or PHR are strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required, but candidates with at least some higher education experience will be considered if all other qualifications are met.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat, and social media web platforms.
- Possess extremely high attention to detail and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential corporate and client information.
