JOB SUMMARY
Looking for an Engineering leader with experience in delivering high performing, enterprise scale applications by employing a strategic approach to performance optimization from the initial stages of development for cloud-based technology and framework including Spark(EMR), Java/Microservice(EKS), Kafka, PostgreSQL(Aurora), Couchbase, DocumentDB, S3 in AWS. The candidate will be responsible for a global award-winning Revenue Management system transformation and modernization and work closely with the Product team to create solution that serve business leveraging current and leading-edge technologies in an innovative and impactful manner. Help drive and adopt Agile development methodologies and technologies. Performs research, analysis, design, creation, and implementation of applications to meet current and future user requirements. Defines and creates the next generation of solutions to drive Marriott value.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required:
+ 10+ years of experience in delivering applications & software development with expert level expertise i n multiple programming languages and methodologies
+ Must have solid working knowledge of full stack solution and be able to lead IT projects, working closely with business and other stakeholders
+ Proven experience in performance engineering with a focus on high-performing application design
+ Strong expertise in analyzing various performance metrics and proactively integrating optimization measures into the application design from the outset
+ 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing high-performance and scalable applications
+ 3+ years of experience in developing applications using Cloud native solutions (AWS)
+ Proficiency in performance-related for technologies such as Java/Scala, Spark, Kafka, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, Microservices, Batch, Micro-Batch and Data Streaming Architecture
+ Understanding of various performance metrics and KPIs for RDBMS, NoSQL, Kubernetes and Spark Data Engineering Engine
+ Knowledge of performance monitoring tools and APM (Application Performance Monitoring) solutions
+ Experience with DevOps tools such as Git, JIRA, Jenkins
+ BSC Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology
Preferred:
+ Experience in travel or lodging applications, services, or operations
+ Technology certifications in Cloud solutions (AWS/Azure) and Big Data
+ Enterprise or solution architecture experience
+ Experience in Agile methodology, DevOps, in building CI/CD pipeline

+ Ability to work closely with architects, engineers, as well as product and business owners to evolve architectures and design technical solutions
+ Release high-quality code early and often using lean and agile technical practices and processes

+ Take technical leadership of software development on a small team
+ Experience with distributed systems and solving availability, scalability and consistency problems in them
+ Skillful at interacting and working with people in a leadership role; working with a self-organized lean and agile team to mitigate key project technical risks, managing effort, and ensuring quality
+ Dedicated to producing quality code and dedicated to best practices such as automated testing, code reviews, pair programming, test driven development, continuous integration, and continuous deployment

The salary range for this position is $113,850 to $216,315 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus and restricted stock units/stock grants.
