Job Summary:
The Director of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for leading the technology strategy, management, and operational execution of all IT functions, ensuring alignment with the Company’s business goals. This role will provide oversight across desktop support, procurement, infrastructure, hardware, software, and networking, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of technology systems. The Director of Information Technology will manage IT teams, develop technology policies, and lead initiatives that enhance organizational performance through effective technology solutions. The Director of Information Technology will report to the Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO).

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Planning
- Develop and execute IT strategy aligned with business goals, driving efficiency and innovation in technology solutions.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to identify technology needs, assess new technologies, and drive digital transformation initiatives.
- Lead IT budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to ensure optimized use of financial and personnel resources.
Team Management and Development
- Recruit, train, and manage IT staff, fostering a high-performance team environment and mentoring employees to ensure career growth.
- Set clear performance metrics, conduct regular evaluations, and provide feedback to ensure team accountability and growth.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration within the IT team.
Technology Operations and Desktop Support
- Oversee all desktop support functions, ensuring timely and effective support for end users and maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Develop policies and procedures for desktop support, including incident management, user onboarding/offboarding, and system upgrades.
- Evaluate and implement tools to enhance support capabilities, drive automation, and optimize the end-user experience.
Procurement and Vendor Management
- Oversee IT procurement, including sourcing, negotiating, and managing vendor relationships to secure cost-effective and high-quality technology assets.
- Develop and enforce policies for hardware and software acquisition, tracking, and inventory control.
- Ensure vendor compliance with service-level agreements and assess vendor performance regularly.
Infrastructure, Networking, and Security
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of a secure and scalable infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud environments.
- Develop policies and procedures for network management, ensuring high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement robust cybersecurity measures, including vulnerability assessments, threat management, and compliance protocols.
Software and Hardware Management
- Oversee software deployment and maintenance, including upgrades, licensing, and ensuring compatibility with the company’s infrastructure.
- Evaluate and standardize hardware used across the organization, balancing user needs, cost, and scalability.
- Lead initiatives for software and hardware lifecycle management, ensuring timely upgrades, replacements, and adherence to budget.
Data Management and Compliance
- Ensure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of company data, implementing best practices for data management, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Develop policies to support data privacy and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), collaborating with legal and compliance teams as needed.
- Implement and oversee data governance practices, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility for business intelligence purposes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in IT management, with 3+ years in a senior leadership role overseeing diverse IT functions.
- Strong experience in infrastructure management, networking, and cybersecurity.
- Ability to use Power BI and Crystal Reports.
- Multiple server environment with RDS.
- Proficiency with IT procurement processes, vendor management, and budget oversight.
- Demonstrated success in managing and scaling technology teams, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
- In-depth knowledge of data management and compliance frameworks, with the ability to implement data governance practices.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with a results-driven approach and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills, with a commitment to improving IT service delivery.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 or commensurate with experience.
